What are the counts normally like for the winner v the rest?

In 2010 the top 5 were:
Dane Swan - 978
Luke Hodge - 609
Gary Ablett - 562
Aaron Sandilands - 283
Joel Selwood - 166

in 2009 the top 5 were:
Gary Ablett Jr. - 688
Dane Swan - 584
Chris Judd - 546
Nick Riewoldt - 343
Joel Selwood - 285

But there are 40-odd more players this year than last year in the AFL, so the numbers are inflated somewhat.
But that's still a huge victory to Juddy...

The Dalai Lama reckons he's never heard of him.

I remember last year Filth supporters claiming that the MVP was the better award to win as it was voted by the players. Wonder what they will be saying this year?

Well done Juddy

When the supporters of all the other clubs boo Judd from now on they can remember that their own players reckon he's the best going around.

He should have 3 of these trophies.

In 2004 Nick Reiwoldt just pipped Judd to win.

However during the count when the votes from Fremantle players came up, they basically all voted for Reiwoldt.

So what you might say?

Well for every other team in the league the votes were split fairly evenly between Reiwoldt and Judd.

The Fremantle result stood out like the proverbials.

Obviously their votes were more to do with hating the West Coast Eagles than actually voting for who they think is the best player.

If Fremantle had voted normally, even if 20% of their players had voted for Judd, the result would have been different.

Made the award a bit of a joke that year.

So what you're saying is that 2004 was a bit like Eurovision?

What, so we're only a 66% chance of winning the flag? :banghead:

Ok blueman, I've been holding onto this but;

1. Low finish in the top8 go & win premiership.
2. Year of war in middle-east (Osama?)
3. Young coach
4. Won't see us comin. :smoking:

Don't remember you mentioning brownlow medalist or norm smith medalist though.
