Gibbs should be alright... if we make it to a prelim?

Same here, he actually managed to raise his arm and rotate it, you would think that if he had any damage he wouldn't be ablle to rotate the sholder or raise his arm above his head.

'shoulder feels alright' - SO not convincing
subluxed AC's (1st grade im assuming) generally arent that painful, so one would generally say 'yeah it feels alright' (not ALL right, but 'alright'- as in 'ok' or 'not too bad')
I've heard countless players do a knee, or stretch a hammy, and be quoted the nextday as saying 'knee's alright' or 'the hammy's ok'.

pain isnt always the best indicator, particularly for ligament impact injuries, especially shoulders

he definitely hurt it, his arms were pinned and his shoulder was rammed into a pretty hard bit of turf (goal square for memory) and he got up holding it awkwardly, grimacing as little as the pain would allow him to, went straight off down the race, and after the game was in a sling. (until it's scanned no-one could know how bad or how minimal it is)

Kouta, was that one ok?
or should I put a gremlin avatar under my name to add a little 80's retro cool, or maybe a really pathetically made animated gif of gibbs hitting the turf? i can put a jerking paper plane in it for you if u like?

Didn't Ryan O'Keefe do an AC joint last week? Starred on Saturday night.

Doc Larkins said that seeing Gibbs raise his arm above his shoulder on the way off the ground indicated it was probably a minor one.

How good is it now the MC are playing him the way he should be played, as good as he is down back I hope to never see him there again.

He's a goalkicking midfielder/high half forward.

True, although he may be the only decent match up we have for LeCras this weekend.

hey guys, alright news. Gibbsy sprained his shoulder and is hopeful to play on Saturday. This is on the afl website.

Not sure if anyone else has watched the replay re: Gibbs, to me it looked as though there was some immediate swelling to the left shoulder/collarbone region. I, like every other Blues fan would love him to play, however the incident reminds me of the Tex one last year vs Cats... Let's pray that it is not a worst case scenario!!!

jon ralph tweeted that gibbs almost certainly wont play this week which i find quite bemusing because everything i've been taught at uni would suggest he's only got a grade 1 sprain to the ac joint, im only going by what i saw him do straight after the incident till he went down the race but the range of movement he displayed seemed very encouraging and i would have thought with correct taping he'd almost be able to play close to pain-free. perhaps they are cautious of him aggravating the injury but i would've thought in a final a player of his calibre would be worth taking a risk with.
