Pro: Pretty sure Tim Watson has to don a Carlton jumper, go to the tram stop outside SEN at around 7:50 am Monday morning, and sing our club song.
Don't sue me if those details aren't accurate to the letter...
and I suppose there is a tiny chance I dreamt that..but...
i think that is what the bet between him and Andy Maher was.

I'm sure they'll post it on their website at some stage too.

It was quite funny watching Yarran running alongside Murphy and no bummers within a mile and all of a sudden Murphy goes "bugger it, I'm stuffed, I'll give it to him" and Yazz's eyes lit up and a huge grin came over his face as he sped off with it and then proceeded to spray it.

Yes they seemd to have a nice relaxing chat as they had a Sunday stroll down the wing...pity Yarran did not slot the goal as it would have made this play a highlight to replay for many years...

What a fantastic feeling it is to beat that red n black mob in September.

Pros
- Robbie played his best game in the navy blue
- our small forwards all delivered
- Tbird had a ripper. Great hands
- Murph is elite
- been saying it all year...but Laids and Duigs have had huge debut seasons for us. Buggered if we didn't have those two down back
- Hendo

Cons
- Gibbs shoulder but should be ok
- Yaz takes just a few too many steps. But damn he must be a confident kid...he just keeps going at it
- we now travel to WA. Another final at the G would have been great

Being a bit harsh boys, we're going to win most games kicking 140 points plus :smoking:

That's true on the surface, but how many games—against better opposition—will we win if we waste so many opportunities to score? It's been a recurring pattern many times this year. You might be able to get away with it in H&A, but finals bite much harder.

The unusual suspects
Warnocks contested mark on the wing..quick hand ball...coast to coast goal. absolute ripper
Setanta made a contest everytime. v. important in the first half. brings the ball to ground for the mosquitoes, somehow finds opportunities for shots at goal
T-Bird - threw his weight around. needs to keep the intensity
Hendo: AA backman with jamo next season.
Laids & Duigs - solid games again
Robbo was much much better but can go another level
Carrots tore jobby a new one. 7 clearances 9 tackles
Northern Bullants

Con
6 days until we play again. cant wait that long blah

Pros:
- The obvious beauty that comes from unzipping our pants, revealing a gigantic Navy Blue schlong, and having those red&black flowers get down on their knees for the pleasure
- Jeff's confidence in front of goal
- Eddie's pressure
- Warnock's best game in the navy blue. Had a big responsibility and delivered. Hopefully next week he'll have some support.
- T-Bird's marking
- Hendo destroying Hurley
- Robbo destroying "the greatest fullback of all time"
- Murph was sublime
- Overall an even performance across the whole team without any real weak links
- CONTESTED @#$%&! MARKS

Cons:
- Kicking for goal. FFS guys, this is a problem that refuses to go away and flags won't be a'coming until we sort it out. Could've easily on by a ton had we kicked straight.
- We let Monfries and Reimers kick goals
- The first qtr was very poor. Soft, unaccountable footy that doesn't belong in finals. We always seem a bit flat at the beginning of games and need a few minutes to settle. Thank God we put a stop to it midway into the 1st, but the Eagles won't be so forgiving.
- Setanta FFS. Liked his effort as always and his willingness in the contest, but TAKE THE @#$%&! SET SHOT!
- Love Yazz's run and willingness to take the game on (the grin on his face as he was running into goal was equally bizarre and awesome), but at that speed decision-making suffers, and teammates can't predict what he'll do. Take the game on Yazz, but know your limits.

On the replay you can clearly see Murph asking Yaz "do you want it?"

Any news on Gibbs?

SEN saying he is fine.

Now I'm REALLY worried.....

how sadly true is this statement.

i am actually starting to to take offence to the amount of absolute heresay and non-professional diagnosis of our injuries in the media.
actually its not just the nedia, it's the club aswell. and i have to admit I feel like the club needs to have a bit more respect for its supporters and members when informing them of certain injured players situations.

in Rattens presser after the game he said Waite would play next week - which is slightly contrasting to the image my mum sent me from Donnini's last night of Jarrad Waite leaving the restaurant in obvious walking discomfort at about 10pm last night, the night before he was supposedly listed to play his return game in the reserves! Only to be then informed by Michael (the owner of Donnini's) that Waite wont play again this year as a result of an osteitis pubis flare up, no mention of the hip injury that has kept him out for the last 9 games, when originally we were told it would be 4-6 weeks out max. And to a lesser extent Kruezer, who after his 'dead foot' incident last saturday, we were then told on monday that the cyst causing the numbness had been drained during a simple procedure, and that he was fine to go for the weekend.

Now it's Gibbs turn.

Its anyones guess really. Yet I'll bet we get fed a load of bollocks all day tomorrow about how its maybe not so bad as 1st thought and that he'll be a good chance to play against WCE. When I fear the truth will be far worse. From what I saw, sitting close to the bench, I'd almost say its either fairly bad A/C bruising, or even more likely probably a pretty low grade subluxed A/C. so expect him to miss anywhere from 1 to about 8 weeks (sarc). But Ill bet anyone $5 that the media reports all week, and club reports, will be that he's a real high chance of playing next week.

just look at Buddy's injury on fri night.
First prognosis was full ACL reco probably req'd - 12 month injury
Then it became a badly hyperextended knee jar - 3-4 weeks
Then we were being told its 'bone-bruising' and possibly could be back in next 2-3
Then today I read that he's a 50/50 chance to play next week.!

It all comes down to just plain uninformed 'guesswork' journalism, and as for the clubs releasing all these mixed messages, then have we got to the stage where giving a credible explanation in a press conference saves a whole lot more face than just being blunt and honest.

I just reckon Larkins and co oughtta just STFU unless they have a considerable amount of truth and evidence behind what theyre reporting.

Ive never read less football press this year than ever before, simply because I just dont trust or believe about 60% of what is being reported, probably 75% actually.

does John Barker do ANYTHING to fix this bad kicking?

seems to me we've got progressively worse as the years gone by.

surely you have to point the finger at the fwd line coach, no?
