It was so nice of Essendon* to bravely allow us to smash them.

Truly courageous of us to take them on minus Waite, Hampson, Kreuzer and Russell.

The echoes of the brave Bombers were ringing all round my area at the 'G' today. "We have done so well to make the finals after where we came from last year" was one of my favourites. So many excuses it was unbelievable.

Just got home, how good was that. Is it too late for Judd to win MOTY. Iwas in M56 and the crowd was singing the song in the 3rd qtr. Ess were a rabble!

I read that Laidler may be in trouble with the MRP. Anyone who saw the incident.....does he have something to worry about?

Anyone know what Lloyd, Dermie or Quatermain had to say after the game??

They all were pretty confident about Ess!

We were lucky to win.

We only won because Stanton sabotaged them.

Also it's unfair to expect they could win without Tayte Pears. We should have done the honorable thing and forfeited.

Elbow to the side of Hille's head after he had kicked the ball, hill a bit shaky getting up but played on ok. I am not an expert but I remember thinking at the time that looked ugly.

Seriously from the replays I saw it was a free kick and that's about it.

I think Laidler did leave the ground as he hit Hille high so the MRP may take a dim view of it.

My opinion is he wont down go for it though.

Well, I must have got the last available seat in the stadium, literally the last row in the Southern Stand. I didn't know humans could survive at that altitude, it was like spending the afternoon on the Hillary Step. Anyway from my perspective, the ants in the dark shorts beat the ants in the white shorts, which is good as that was us. Apart from a bit of angst halfway thru the first qtr it was a stress free afternoon. Everyone did something.

Special mention to Robbie Warnock. I have been a critic, but in his biggest game, when the team needed him most he really delivered with a whole hearted performance, showing up Ryder and Hille as spuds.

TBird enjoyed his arvo agaisnt Myers. Scotto was terrific. Hendo is fast becoming my favourite player. The up side of Jammo's injury is that it has revealed a super backman and if Jammo can stand up for a whole season our backline is suddenly very imposing. Jammo got through the game and was solid.

Only mystery is what was the thinking behind Davies being sub. I found it utterly baffling. No knock on him, he has been solid but is a medium defender behind Laidler and Duigan. If it was back up for Jammo then surely Bower's height would have been better. I think a sub should be a guy who can really impact a game when things aren't going well. Fortunately we didn't need that. If anyone has a theory on the thinking behind Davies as sub I'd be interested to here it. Very hard to understand why they thought he'd be better value than Tuohy.

Also a bit of animation would be great. Robbo was the only guy who seemed remotely pleased when we got the first goal. Be nice if we had a few more unstable extroverts in the team to fire us up.

Good call, Robbo was giving away about a foot and a half and aside from an out on the full I can't remember anything he did before going off in the arms of the medicos
