If it was a day or so later this would be a good move, but they're playing almost simultaneously so it's not.

But why does it matter if they play simultaneously? Give Jamo a map to Port Melbourne and see how he goes!

From a Carlton perspective, I hope they play Hurley - the guy won't have been doing much running for weeks - I don't like his chances at the G in a finals environment. Look to Henderson to monster him.

Was at training as well and must say was concerned with the way Jamo was moving. I assume they will jab him tomorrow so will be moving a lot more freely. Not sure what the deal is with Hendo but hope he is ok. Carrots participated in full training and will play.

Generally was a pretty low key session to stretch the legs. Bring on the dons!!

Because its the state of his injuries that are in question, not the intensity of the game.

Sounds like he's fine anyway.

From the pre match thread for the last game vs Essendon*...

TruBlueBrad wrote:
Well, after the last game vs Essendon*, which I took my Essendon* supporting nephew too, quite a stir was made about the amount of...heated discussions I ended up in with others.

Unfortunately, it appears there's a common trend and the incidents that occured weren't the first of their kind. So for this week I've had to vow I'll be good and not end up in any blues (pardon the pun).

What that means is this.

a) no sorting out seating arrangements for others, this includes asking people sitting in the wrong seats to move so others blocking my view can sit down and supporters just being arseholes. Sadly, this category has been reserved for fellow Carlton supporters.

b) no barracking and whinging about umpires. Yes, this means I'll have to sit there like a stunned mullet regardless of whats happening so no pinhead Essendon* supporter feels the need to turn around and have a go at me because I'm rightly pointing out Scott Lucas has his hands in Lance Whitnalls back or Heath Scotland has just had his head taken off. I'm assuming no one was game enough to have a go at me after my reaction to the play on call after Yarran charged off the bench and tackled Hille ( ? ) who'd had the ball for long enough.

c) I'm driving in to avoid the numpties on the train.

Same story again, nephew going with me tomorrow and he lost his own Under 13's grand final today so I have to be a bit sensitive and not barrack too hard. What that means is I need the rest off you to lift and barrack on my behalf when we smash these pricks!

Yes, and that's why I said that if he's ok but there's a bit of a cloud, don't play him in the AFL but play him in the VFL. Because if he doesn't play any football this weekend, how can he play again this year?

Anyway, as you say, hopefully he's ok.

When all is said and done, here we are in a huge final at the G. The selections have been made, there are lucky and unlucky players. But I am expecting a ferocious assault by the Blues, and am feeling very confident. So much so that I am preoccupied with the fall of the cards that means we don't get the Hawks next week.

I haven't been this excited for a final since I was 12, no actually ever. When I was 12 we started our premiership run and we didn't stop for almost 30 years. I thought finals were a Carlton birthright. The last decade has been rather sobering. Supporters like me have had a dream run. Supporters under 25 would barely remember Carlton's truly great sides. Tomorrow is a rebirth. Lets smash them Blues! Everyone who doesn't barrack for us despises us, so let's ruin everyone's weekend except ours. GO BLUES!

Bower is playing Bullants.
Tuohy is the emergency they're taking to the ground, will stay till bounce then play second half with Bullants.

But, you can still keep sweating on the media reports if u like.

Slightly off toptic but what is the logic behind the VFL scheduling the Bullants at the same time?

Seems ridiculous.

You're not following me here. Jamo is match fit if his knee is right (cardio's OK, muscles around the knee don't atrophy over 10 days unless you're on your arse the whole time). If his knee isn't right, he shouldn't be playing any footy.

The problem here is how his knee is responding to hard training, i.e. how is the level of swelling, how can it be reduced, does this help with his injury progress, etc.

It's the VFL's call, but why would you want it on today?

The only thing we should be worrying about is our rucks for tomorrow.

Last night showed how important the Cats ruck domination was.
And now West Coast are up and about early on the back of Cox/Nic Nat domination.

If Warnock serves up his usual fairy floss, its gonna make it hard.

I have 2 spare MCC guest passes. General admission first in best dressed type seats (or standing at the back of the MCC or in one of the bars).

PM me if anyone is interested.

Given the selected teams, like a few others, I'd expect Davies to either be sub, or to be our defensive forward match up for Fletcher.

Massive game for all concerned tomorrow but I'll be watching Betts and Carrazzo VERY closely. They've been around long enough now and NEED to perform on the big stage.

No doubt the choice was between tuohey and davies and MC obviously think davies a better fit for the game. Sugar was never a real chance, russell and him brought in last week for depth reasons to cover for injuries.

I actually think armfield or ellard will start sub, as they are both capable of going into the middle. I would my money on armfield to generate run late in the game. Davies as a sub is too defensive; we either have role for him at the start or he should not be there.

We must be a similar vintage Gerry. From the time I was born until 2002 the longest I ever had to wait for a flag was seven years.
You do get used to it.
