I'm wrapped with that team.

Obviously I'm not happy that we haven't got a healthy and fit Waite and
Kruezer. I am happy that the MC has seemingly gone for fit players ahead of names.

Jamison's the only one I know of with significant question marks over his match fitness. I think he's done enough though to be worth the risk. But one in that category's enough.

Heath Scotland

C: Bryce Gibbs Chris Judd Kade Simpson

Its a very awkward looking Carlton side - we just need to play a good running game and mix it up as much as we can.

I think that this is now a very versatile side with a strong defensive bent. Jamo, Thorton, Hendo, Setanta, Bower have all proven that they can play tall in defence if need be but Thorton, Hendo and Setanta can also go forward if we need the height. Irish will have to pinch hit in the ruck.
Gibbs, Scotland, Armfield, Carrots, Tuohy and Joseph can all do well in the back half too as well as spending time on the ball in the middle.
Yazz can swing forward if he has to.
Duigan, Davies and Laidler are really the only "permanent defenders".

In the middle Warnock, Murph, Judd and Simmo will follow the ball all day and Lucas looks best on a wing

Robbo and Walker can swing between on ball and attack
Jeff and Eddy are permanent in the forward line.

Its actually our forward line that is worrying me the most - If they all fire - no worries.

Geez Big K is a huge out. I'd be extending Setanta's contract by another year. We always seem to have ruckmen injured and we are very light on. Unfortunately this year our #1 and #2 rucks are out. If only Hammo had come up. With a fit Big K or Hammo I would be super confident - not so much now. Still, we should win. Do something different. use Setanta deep forward and try to get him one on one if he's not on Fletcher. Have Hendo on Ryder and swap follow him into the rick, then use Hendo going forward, make Rider follow him. Concede a few knockouts and get the third man up around the ground.

I'd be astonished if Tuohy or Lucas were dropped. having picked them last week you would assume it was a dress rehearsal for this week and they both went well, so keep them in.

Geez JR is going bad, seems a shadow of his last year self. I suspect Bower might be in if Jammo is a late withdrawal.

I am not as bullish as I was when we had more than one fit ruckman, but still we are a good side and good sides overcome adversity and we are only playing Essendon*. Time for Robbie Warnock to be inspired rather than insipid. He came to be a #1 ruckman. Well the time is now Robbie, the eyes of the footy world are on you - produce.

The good thing is that hopefully Big K and Hammo will be fit next week - don't like our chances ag the WCE with only one ruckman.

So when they told us that Kreuz would be right to go this weekend, they were just @#$%&! with us again?

Why wouldnt you name Kruze on the bench? At least put some extra doubts in their heads

Bombers MC haven't done too much wrong.
Welsh and Hooker have been the weak links, smart to drop them.

I don't think Dyson will play and Colyer has been out of touch last week apparently.

I expect Carlisle and Lonergan to play.
Reimers and Lovett Murray not sure.

Geez I hope Pears, Fletcher and Hurley are not as fit as they are making out.
Having them cop an injury to one of their talls would help us a LOT!

As long as it's a damp track we're home, if it's not I'll be very nervous.

Looks like the mc aren't going to take a chance on players who are not fully fit, at least I hope that's the case. We're going to have to run, run and then run some more.

The BOM has been forecasting rain all this week and it hasn't rained a drop in Melbourne, at least not where I live. So while showers are forecast - who knows if they'll eventuate?

FWIW it says "expected". Anyway, that's a rant for another thread in my opinion.

It's definitely a versatile team as mentioned but it's an odd team. Setanta, Thornton, Henderson can all be fwd targets but who will actually go down there? Setanta will ruck some of the time, Thornton will go loose in defence, Henderson I expect will stay down back - I assume Bombers will throw Hille down to the square to stretch us.

Warnock is going to be stuffed by the end of the game.

Bombers won't play 3 ruck, they are too big and slow already, especially the back line were we exposed them last time.

THere were posters on this site that new Kreuzer wasn't going to play last night and this morning. No doubt the Bombers were onto it.
No point in picking him for ruse.

Just pick the team and back it to win.

The second ruck could be an issue but not so much if it rains. Like the Swans game.

I am tipping someone out of left field to bob up with a handful of goals. Robbo, Gibbs or Jamo. Maybe Warnock will nab a couple.

We will run all over them. Us by 27 in the wet.

Has to ruck as well...

Thornton has to tag Felcher out of the game.

Please let Essendon* play three ruckmen.

Kreuzer out is a big loss.

Unfortunately I think this will be a close one.
