Hocking is back for this game, so you can get bet that Judd will be scragged big time ala Eagles and Hawks game plan.

The talls are a worry - Hurley, Ryder, Hille and maybe Bellchambers
Vs. Setanta, Warnock, Hendo

Sorry but that does not bode well for us.
If Fletcher and Pears both play, then we are really going to be pushing Scum uphill.

We will need to be very very brave to win this one.

Also if Alwyn Davey wins a 50 metre penalty I will spew up my beer.

Said something about a car accident, anyone know anything about this?

Jamo and Carrots both got whiplash which is why they pulled out.
I'm sure they will get up for next week.

Were they both in the accident?

Here's why we will win.

We have lost our last two EFs, in both of which we were in winning positions.

This has left a burning hole in the gut of many of our players. They have been talking about it a lot this year. They as indivivuals have all the motivation they need to win.

This is how it will go. Essendon* will come out hard, try to be physical. We will weather the storm and cruise away to a 40 pt win.

Hope so bluemark, as I was hoping they would set the scene with a good win against St Kilda, but I was sadly mistaken.

The guys really need to fire, as we have not played well for a number of weeks now.

All I ask for is one win against the Scum. Anything else will be a bonus.

I don't see why people are fretting so much.

Are you forgetting what happened last time we played them?

Yes, but they didn't have Watson or Feltcher playing.

It is very difficult when the team knows it can't finish higher or lower than 5th 3 or 4 weeks before the season ends. They have had one eye on this game since round 21.

The changes are fascinating this week.

I think

IN: Carrazzo and Jamo
OUT: Davies and Russell

The heat must go on Garlett. He is too important to drop but yet has been out of form for a month at least. Russell played ok on Sat night and will be unlucky but Tuohy and Lucas were too impressive to drop. Thornton would be unlucky to miss after having a solid season and I would be shocked if Waite gets up.

I want to see Gibbs be the best on the ground.

I'm thinking Kruze's pyschological impact on the team will be just as important as his stats.

Humphrey is a very well regarded member of the team, and having that doubt erased from their minds will allow the boys to focus on the job.

I still think Thornton's experience and ability to provide a wildcard marking target means he should probably get a gig. Scum will select a top heavy contested marking team for sure.

For those hanging their hat on the last time we played them and our 74 point win, they would do well to watch the 1st half again.

We were clearly beaten in the air. The fact that we are a bit short on talls will not help that situation.

I am very worried about this game and if our midfield does not turn out a good performance we will be in trouble.

Not unexpected from the cheating blues with all their No.1 draft picks.

Does anyone believe the Bombers will be brave?

The headline could read ...

"Brave Bombers Belted"

Now that Kruezer is fine. Thank Goodness!!!

Out: Davies Russell
In: Carrazzo Jamison

B: Joseph Jamison Laidler
HB: Touhy Henderson Duigan
Yarran

C: Simpson Carrazzo Scotland
Foll: Warnock Judd Murphy

HF: Gibbs Setanta Walker
F: Betts Kruezer

Int: Robinson Armfield Lucas (Garlett)

Davies has been okay and his time will come. Russell just looks to be really lacking on confidence.

Setanta is needed for his goal kicking and flexibility. The idea of Setanta, Kruezer and Warnock through the ruck is appealing.

Garlett off the bench. His fresh legs in the second half could make a huge difference and I really think our two small forward line is predictable and easy to shut down especially for the better sides.

If we play stop start football like we did against the Saints ... then we will lose.

The message to the players this week has to be PLAY ON!

Also .. we need more help at the ball ... if Carrots is not fit ... McLean or Ellard must play.

Well let us look at their likely talls.

Hurley
Ryder/Hille (both spend time in the ruck and up forward)
Carlisle (Plays both ends)

Fletcher or Hooker (Hooker been terribly out of form and is likely to be dropped for Fletcher)
Pears

Myers and Hardingham are sort of medium talls.

Henderson will play on Hurley with help from Duigen and others
Jamo will help out Henderson too when he doesnt have to play on Hille or Ryder.
Laidler or perhaps Thornton if he plays should be able to account for Carlisle.

Fletcher will prob play on Betts after what happened last time
Pears to Ohailpin or Kreuzer
Hardingham on Walker

It's actually pretty even. They are not taller than us.

The always insightful Dr Jimmae  over in the Ants thread, confirmed the reason Hammer didn't play yesterday was because he hadn't played enough Ants games to qualify [played 5 needed to play 7] for the the Final yesterday.
