Kruze has struggled for weeks IMO, his absence might be overrated.

Because whenever we lose people start talking about X playing being injured and therefore the MC shouldn't have played them.

Judd did look tired though.

Hopefully next year we will be smart enough to rest him in games (GWS and the suns)

Yeah, but the AFL will probably schedule us against GC and GWS in Rounds 2 and 5

Add Port to that list if we play them here as well.

The shorter quarters might help him next year though.

We have to prepare ourselves for this. These flogs in the media will do anything to pump up the brave tyres and try to make us nervous. Anything that shows us to be soft, downhill skiers etc.

50/50 game

It's up to us to prove the doubters wrong and win a final.

We are pretenders until we do.

According to Ch7 our chances have been dealt a "MASSIVE BLOW" even though they have no idea what's wrong :screwy:

Good... That should take away their tall timber advantage.

I've got no problem in the media writing us off or doubting us for this week. Reverses all the pressure back to the scum. Conspiracy theory in me says our club are deliberately putting these little things out there (yaz and Hendo scans, no word on Kruez, etc) exactly for the reasons of pumping up the bombers.

Having said all that, just hope we take 100% fit players into this match - cannot afford to do anything less for a final.

Can't elevate a rookie after round 18. We've already elevated 3 (maybe 4). He's done nothing until today. Not happening.

Anyone know what's happening with Hammer?
If neither he nor Big K is available I wonder if there is anything clever and unpredictable we can do with the second ruck. Just have a tallish running player as our around the ground 'ruck', whoever is tallest near the contest takes the ruck with a third man up, and then use our 'ruck' to run the ball. We need to do something with imagination to try and turn a set back and weakness into a strength or at least a surprising tactic that needs to be countered. Very very disappointing to see no Hammer and White in the 2s which makes them very doubtful for next week (unless they were being rested for next week). Kerr was the travelling emergency earlier in the year, could he possibly be brought in as a wildcard, perhaps as sub. Anyone think he is up to it or is he being thrown to the wolves?

Whenever anyone on this site tells us punters that the club knows best and we are pathetic for questioning their judgement I just quietly say to myself the magic words 'Brock McLean'. Tries really hard but I've seen statues move faster. Makes our options really thin. Curnow looks a shadow of his former self. Maybe Ellard could come in - surprised he was dropped when he has played every game.

With our lack of height and apparently no White TBird has to come in as a tall defender. I'd love to see Setanta played as a full forward but maybe he'll be needed as a pinch hitting ruckman unless the MC comes up with a cunning plan.

Casboult kicked 5, however, in what might have been his best game yet for the Ants.

Second good game against Bendigo after he kicked four on Carlisle earlier this year.
