In some respects .... the loss will help us ... we will be desperate next week.

Was anyone surprised the crowd was only 55k last night? It looked like a lot more than that to me.

Disappointing end result, but in my mind last night confirmed our best back 6 going into 2012.

I like that back line.

Amazing that only one of them was there last year.

Good point. I'd also like to somehow fit Russell in there, with his pace and kicking coming out of defence. He seems to struggle playing in other roles, and he's too good a player not to be in the side when fit and in form.

A couple of guys named McCarthy and Watson might start to show their with as well but I do like that 6!

Wouldn't that be good? I still haven't given up on Bower either, after seeing his performance today with the Bullants. I only hope he and the club haven't lost hope.

Ratts' presser was interesting re: Austin and Bower

along the lines of "we only had Bower and Austin as back up talls so we're struggling for KP depth".

It could be interpreted as a vote of no confidence in the two I suppose...

What we saw last night was a disgrace and not the sort of performance that I ever want to see from a Carlton team ever again.

Carlton teams should be skilful and ruthless, what we saw was wasteful, meek and timid.

If you put your head over the ball and work hard you get what you want, victories and respect.

Cartlon should have sent St. Kilda to Sydney for a final, you should never give a sucker and even break.

What our players have done, is give Ratten is a nightmare. Drop the final and a true Cartlon man will be looking for a new job.

Highlighhts were Lucas and Yarran. Small forwards need to find something and damn quick.

Not a good look is it?

But if players are injured and can't front up, you don't have much choice do you?

If that is the treatment they get, I can imagine them wanting out.

I think you have taken it out of context. I read it as "we have Bower and Austin, and then no-one" not that "We have Bower and Austin, and therefore no-one"

That was my read on it too. I also found the fact that he singled them out by name more than a little odd.

2 talls out in Jamison and Kreuzer.

2 talls in Austin and Bower - we have plenty of depth.

Also the non-mention of Simon White who is 190cm...

He actually mentioned White at another time in the presser, and sounded a lot more positive towards him. Don't be surprised if he's brought into the team this week.
