@#$%&! pathetic effort. If the club see that as anything but totally unacceptable, then we're totally [REDACTED] in September.

Tonight (and the Hawks game) we've validated everything the shitheads out there have been saying about us all year. Too many pea-hearts still who shit their pants when someone says BOO, and who wait for someone else to do the hard work so they can follow in their wake. Until we remove this mentality, we won't be winning any flags soon.

Hard to run out a game when you've been a man short for more than a half.
Next week we will have Jamo back. Maybe Hampson. Maybe Thornton. Maybe Carazzo. Maybe Waite (doubt it). Maybe Kreuzer.
The kids we played tonight just weren't up to it, especially one down. St Kilda just loaded up their F50 with talls and then ran it and kicked long. It won't work if we have a structured team on the field. Walker had to play away from the forward line. Garlett can't possibly put in a worse one than that. Judd and Murphy were down on their usual performances. At one stage we were six behinds in front of them.

Look on the bright side. I hate it when TC goes into meltdown because people just like to bag them without supporting their argument.

What is a flat track bully anyway? A team that wins? A team that likes to run into space and use their pace? Is it a team that likes to kick long and mark it inside 50 and kick goals?

Is it a team that has had a lot of talls out at the same time, has two more late withdrawals and has to play kids who have not played a senior game all year and then can't run out the game because they have been playing a man short for two and a half quarters?

Yep. It's the last one.

Some of you blokes shouldn't call yourselves supporters. You're too busy enjoying the chance to call them for all you're worth.

Go and support Richmond. That's what their ferals do. You'll be right at home there.

We are the Navy Blues and we do NOT just bag them for fun. Criticize, yes but objectively.

Yes. I'm talking to you.

so what, there was nothing to gain from tonight, they stopped trying after half time, no run, no tackles, no nothing.... we made St Kilda look rank in the first half without even trying.

next week is what counts, this is when we will be judged, not on a meaningless game that meant nothing to us in terms of ladder positions.

We've made some improvements but the sad reality is we've lost our last 2 games and haven't been able to get the job done against the top 4 all season. Honourable losses don't mean much.

Not to mention we haven't won a final in a decade.

For mine, our weaknesses have been heavily exposed the last 2 games.

My concern is what confidence will we take into next week? Seriously?

Well done to the big Santanaman. Don't get too comfortable though, you know what the MC's like.

Come on BS we are just disappointed and we call as we see it. There was great disappointment tonight and the players that needed to stand up just did not. There were some positives but the same people Simmo, Yarran, Hendo for example but the softies did not - that is a fact. Like you, I love the club and just want sustained success. I guess we have to face the fact that we are not good enough.. yet. By the way, this is not fun.

If we 'weren't trying' and didn't really care about the result or getting our players into some sort of form, then why didn't we follow Hawthorn's lead and leave out anyone with a niggle (of which we had quite a few)?

We were beaten, plain and simple. Outplayed, outsmarted and above all, outmuscled. The exact same happened against Hawthorn two weeks ago. Clearly we learned @#$%&! nothing from that.

Setanta did well up forward.

Kane Lucas was good, keep him in.

Simpson was awesome again, our best player lately.

Henderson belted Riewoldt.

Yarran did a lot of nice things.

Laidler is always solid.

Murphy was good.

Struggling for many other positives.

That Riewoldt, Dal Santo, Goddard and (to a lesser extent) Kosi were all well beaten by their opponents all night, it makes the lack of effort by their mates all the more galling.

I often wonder how Simpson in particular thinks of his teammates sometimes.

The confidence that a few weeks ago we beat them by 74 points when we were injury depleted (as were they) perhaps?

Our main weakness tonight was lack of tackling. Tonight. It has been one of our strengths all year. Doesn't mean it is a permanent weakness. Our other weakness has been a lack of tall timber. Well, we tried to address that but lost Kreuzer early. Things like that happen. Setanta isn't Waite but he did present. The issue facing the MC next week is whom do we put in if Kreuzer doesn't come back from what is apparently a numb foot. (Hopefully it isn't stress related but something less time consuming). Do we play Hampson? Maybe we have no option.
Furthermore, the team coming off a bye has lost almost every week. It seems to take the extra week to get back in the swing of it.
And last of all, the result of this game had no bearing on our ladder position or finals opponent for next week. Perhaps there was a bit of wait until next week about it.

That's the confidence I take into next week.

We really need to keep things in perspective. We have known for some weeks now that we will finish 5th and that no result win or loss would change that. Accepting this as a fact will help you understand that up until now it all counts for nothing. We have had the perfect opportunity to tweak things without showing our hand. I suggest that the club the MC the coach and the players understand this. Why risk something when there is nothing to gain? Sept 10th is when it all matters. Only on this day will we know whether we have progressed or not. So until then winning form or losing form counts for nothing. Get over it people. Save the anger the disgust the sack the coach all until next week ... But only if we lose...which we will not... Book the tickets for Perth people.

Disappointed we all are.
Objective we all are not.
