I was there at that Monday night 'miracle' game we had at 'G-itshard' a while back. I'm probably wrong, but I thought Setant would come back for this one..as they try to replicate those tactics again.
My concern is that Saints will have adapted and found a way around what we did that night..in fact..they are playing a more driving and attacking game than they were back then.

What i most need to see, is that no player goes missing when the heat is on. That they don't give up,even if heavily tagged..but find a way till the final siren.
The other thing will be...if we are being beaten...will we implement changes..adapt quickly, and bounce back to match them, and ultimately win.

With the Aints bringing in Gardiner it looks like they will try and exploit our lack of defensive height. Jamo & Hendo take 2 of Gardiner/Kosi/Roo but who takes the third? Laidler and Duigan too small, O'hailpin hasn't played back in, like, forever, Kwho is left? perhaps we might be forced to go with Walker @ CHB on Roo, worth a try in a gae that doesn't matter, but robs or no 1 forward option. The team remains at least one if not two genuine talls short IMO - but absent Waite and if Hampson isn't ready (and he isn't ready to ruck, could only play forward) Bower/Austin/Watson don't excite - perhaps Bower who is in some sort if form, but isn't ripping it up in the Ánts by any means. And even with Thornton will be back next week, he isn't a real tall type, although he can mind the talls reasonably well on a good day.

Would be a great time for one of the talls in the Ánts to play a blinder.

I doubt the Saints will play Roo Kozi and Gardiner in the forward at the one time for any length of time. That would be suicide and go against all the things they have done to get back on track.
It would be crazy for any team to throw 3 giants like that forward.

We would have it covered if they did and Yaz would have a field day.

The balance of talls and running players is pretty much spot on for this game IMO.

Would love to have seen Russell picked so as to have a game under his belt before finals.

I would have rested Judd too.

Judd was rested last week.

I think it's danger games if you don't play footy two weeks in a row and then are expected to step it up for a cut throat final.

The guys need to play to be in form for next week.

My sister and her husband are coming to stay tomorrow night, he's a Saints fan.
I hate watching games at home with opposition supporters, ruins my mojo.

My fate in the work tipping comp (and $500 winner's cheque) now rests on the boys winning this game.

Blues...DON'T YOU @#$%&! DARE LOSE

Rumour going around is that Ohalipin was seen limping at training today and had his knee and calf heavily strapped.

Unlikely to play,

Setanta and Jamo? Great.

Great, because I think these rumours are complete BS. The Jamo one comes from comments about his performance in the VFL, which were exaggerated to begin with, and the O'hAilpin one at least has some more merit given this:

But from the looks of the taping, it's not supporting any ligaments. Might just be some swelling or general pain?

Plane has technical fault and I am still stuck at Pu Dong Airport.

I have been waiting all season to see the Blues play.

I am going to miss the game. :banghead:

Looks like tapping on the calf and quad.

Carlos had that taping last week for the ants and looked slow. He had a terrible game last week.
I am not expecting too much tonight. hopefully he can create a contest.

He has had that taping for years. Its for the patella tendon. Takes a bit of the load of it.
Had to wear it myself for a few years in my soccer days. Does the trick.

I'll be watching a few closely tonight...

Like to see Warnock use his body half decently
Gartlett get a bit of confidence back
Jamo show some more improvement
Setanta crash a few packs and make it easier for Eddie and co around him
And
Lucas have a solid first game back

Expecting a tight game but a burst from us in the 2nd or 3rd quarter should provide us with enough of a gap to win.

Blues by 32 pts.
