this is my beef. they wouldve charged a friggin fortune, and if you don't get originality from an ad agency of such repute & stature, then you're being shafted.
it's actually a disgrace, (not the ad, just the unoriginality and generic message served up from a world class agency) and it will surely be scrutinised & exposed as such within the industry in the coming weeks.

on this thread alone there's already been 3 other sport related ads posted with pretty much exactly the same idea and very similar execution,
and wet willie check my previous Queensland Red ad youtube post - we're not the first in australia to pinch it


dont get me wrong though, I'm not saying the campaign wont work (you'd be amazed by some of the advertising ideas that succeed) It probably will. It's got a good feel, and it's got legs. but i really expected something fresher

I am trying to respond to the "I AM CARLTON" club email with all my particulars and it is not accepting my Membership Number.



Club is going to get a call on Monday Morning - not happy.

Maybe due to the amazing response, there is a web glitch.

It is asking for a 7 digit membership number in the membership field - my membership number has only 5 digits.

And I do smile from time to time.

I think I know which 2 digits they have refused to give you.

Its a bit ho hum really.

A lot of work has gone into it, which is good, but its its not really hitting any home runs, its just a clever tap past the infielders and sliding into first.

Its a summer promotion, not a marketing and membership campaign and certainly not 5 years worth of value.

I loved seeing Mil Hanna involved though.

It would have been more hitting if Mil spoke for 45 secs about what the club means to him.
