Personally, I hope we're keen to move to the MCG

Well what have they go to offer?

Transfer our social club into the medallion club. Not possible? See ya later then.

Even a 7-4 split is disappointing.

Im sure Swann will let Etihad drive the price up before selecting the MCG.

Personally can see it being a 7-4 split and not too unhappy about that to be honest. Home games against teams such as Port, Freo, Brisbane, Sydney will be ideal for Etihad. I don't mind the stadium to attend the footy but do mind the way we as a side seem to handle it.

Oh, Collo is serious.

A 7-4 or 8-3 split is OK.
We draw well against Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane there. 40k usually, same as Carl-Melb at MCG.
But we shouldn't play home games against Victorian clubs at ES ever again.
We should ask for 11 at the G, then offer Collo 8-3 or 7-4 if he releases the contract immediately

Sure collo's serious.

With the crap deal we have there, and the fact we bring in the crowds, we're a cash cow.

Agree with buzz, we should never play a Vic team there again. Probably ok for interstate clubs with a better deal.

Would still much rather collingwoods MCG deal though, but I doubt that's going to happen.

We should be negotiating a better deal at both grounds starting with our social club being moved into the Collingwood er I mean Ponsford stand at he G. Many of our members pay premium price and deserve premium facilities.

You can only do that when you are in a postion of strength.
From reading the posts above people seem to forget the position we were in both on and off the field. We were on the nose.

Times have changed and we are now in a strong position - lower drawing interstate clubs at Etihad and all the rest at the "G".

Go Blues!

On the field we were shit and we had no money but we always pulled a crowd. The deal was a joke and still is a joke.

I loathe Etihad, but I accept that we will need to play some home games there.

These games should only be against the Suns, GWS, Port Adelaide, Fremantle, and perhaps Brisbane.

We should never play a home game against a Vic team there (especially Hawthorn and Geelong), nor Sydney and Adelaide.

8-3 split seems reasonable.

It would also be good if we could get into the contract that we do not play a final there.

Agreed.

Happy to play interstate clubs at Etihad. Adelaide and WC were our lowest drawing games and still had 38K there. We had something like 43K against Brisbane and Sydney.

Sitting in Etihad with a 90% Carlton crowd of that size is a much better atmosphere than sitting at the MCG with 40K. We should use it to our advantage to try and create a real home ground advantage.

Playing teams like Hawthorn and Geelong at Etihad just shouldn't happen regardless of whose home game it is. Attendance at the G would be 60K+

We need to avoid playing a slab of games at etihad back to back. That is when the injuries mount and the soreness gets worse from week to week. If we can avoid that by signing a deal elsewhere i am all for it. If the AFL and Etihad and Carlton can get an agreement where we dont ever play there 3 weeks in a row then it wouldnt be so bad. Our form there is not terrible.

Ideally we play every week at the mcg like collingwood do.

I wouldnt mind playing 4 games at Etihad as our home games. Even Collingwood play a couple of home games at Etihad. Good luck trying to get the Ponsford Stand from Collingwood, they got in first and there is no way they will give up that. Even at our home games against Collingwood we feel like the away team as the Collingwood members have such a good deal.
Playing games against Hawthorn at Etihad doesnt make sense and only games against the interstate sides should be played there.
Dont mind the place in mid winter.

The Dome held the cards last time and the club did the right thing by taking the money.

Of course, we'd all love to be at the MCG every week, but that's never going to happen.

This time, though, we'll get what we want.
