Au contraire, making Hreewoldt cry again is a worthy goal.

How anyone can think we'll beat the Swans and then the Eagles at Subi after tonight's first half is beyond me.

Good thing most good judges base their assessments on 2 halfs and think a little deeper than your limits.

We now essentially have two bye's going into the finals and need to manage our list accordingly.

Play whoever needs game time and rest whoever needs it for the following week.

Maybe try a player or two that hasn't seen much senior football just to see if they can offer something for the next 4 weeks.

Yeh agreed overall, but it would be still nice to win given the run we've had overall against the Saints.

You could bring in any of Hammer, Waite (assuming fit), JR, Bower, Setanta, Curnow, McLean...

We need a marking forward in our structure. Waite is obvious, but will he be fit by then?

In: Hammer, JR, Waite/Setanta
Out: Warnock, Davies, ???

I think I'd replace Warnock with Hammer if he's gets some miles in his legs this week and next week. Robbie was terrible in the 1st half with zero presence in the contested marking situations and very few 2nd and 3rd efforts at the stoppages. Needs to improve his consistency in effort. Krooz is our #1 ruckman/follower and needs to play that role.

We also need a tall presence up forward and that's either Waite or Setanta, leaving an unlucky Thornton to make way. Jamo, Hendo and Laidler are our 3 best tall defenders so no room for Thornton back there, unfortunately.

Big 2 weeks for Curnow. Hopefully he finds lots of the ball.

In all seriousness, is it worth experimenting further with Jamo up forward, or am I being ridiculous? Particularly if Waite doesn't come back? Obviously we need Jamo down back but we need a target up forward more, and Hendo is doing well back there. Jamo really gave us something up forward.

We have got a 200cm forward in the two's in Setanta Ohalipin who surely comes into the side for this game and the finals.

If West Coast drop one of either Essendon* or Brisbane, our attitude about whether this game means anything or not may drastically change. Their last game against Adelaide is on at the same time/slightly after ours

Gee you're all being very kind to TBird. He is too slow and too short for a key forward against decent oppo and he is back in the queue as third defender. Ellard had a shocker ag the Hawks and lacks class but he has been solid all year, be a big call to drop him now. McLean has been back a few times but is even slower than Thornton. Curnow would need to be going real well in the 2s to get back. Love to see Hammer in rather than Warnock, but Ratts loves Warnock for some reason. Ruckman have to gibvea lot more than getting their hands on indecisive knock outs. If Hammer is really in form after 2 games with the Ants I'd have him back. Maybe Army out, love his pace and toghness but jis disposal can kill you and AJ is going well at the mo. Davies hasn't starred but has been solid, but so was Tuohy and he was dropped. I suspect Army will be out as the sub normally is.

We need to pick a side for finals, if Warnock can't cream inexperienced guys like Zac Clarke and Max Bailey then how will he go against Cox and Jolly and Ottens and Mummy.

In Hammo (if he goes well in the next 2 VFL games) Setanta (ditto) JR and possibly Tuohy
Out Warnock (if Hammo is showing form) Thornton Davies (unlucky) Army (only because the next spot for the sub appears to be the Ants.

We ballsed up the first half no doubt but we can learn from that and improve on areas we were no good in tonight. We are better than Sydney so we will win that. WC will get slammed by collingwood and head back after a long round trip a bit flat. We travel well and play
Subi very well.

Agree Club, WC @ Subi after a Pies flogging could be utopia for us. We have a great record @ Subi. :smoking:

Though, you've lost me with the "struggle to win" v Saints. At the G we'll hammer them, IMHO.

If I can generalise, isn't it weird that a lot of us would rather play WC at Subi then at Etihad?! :grin:

Bloody hate Etihad.

At our best, we can trouble a lot of sides. But in finals, you don't always get the game on your terms. Against the top 4 sides this year, despite showing some improvement, we haven't been able to get the job done. Not once.

That's my concern. What confidence can we take when we continually come up short? If we can't get the result in a H&A game, how will we go in a cut throat final?

Some people say we can take positives out of the second half and I agree with that. But I also believe we shouldn't of been in that position in the first place. We won't win a final playing a half of good football imho.

I guess we have 3 weeks to sort ourselves out.

If Jamison is going to play forward. How about we try Kruezer at CHB?

FB = Henderson
CHB = Kruezer
CHF = Waite
FF = Jamison

We should go out at 100% and go for the win, we need to make a statement after that debacle last night and build some vital momentum for the first week of the finals.

I fear though that not only will they prove we arent a top 4 team, but we may very well be the 6th best team in the comp :mad:

But how else would we know how anything and everything effects the good people of Western Australia? Won't someone think of the Western Australians?

how about kreuzer just does the ruck work and we dont waste time with him forward cos he has no idea at the moment and cant take a grab. 3 marks in 2 weeks is not good

Not sure what thread to pose this question in, so this one will do:

Do we play Jamo in the VFL next week to give him some extra match practice?

Ratts has already said he'd play there this week. Hampson also. Waite was also mentioned but not sure if that is still relevant.
