Sub from Joseph/Armfield I reckon

If Yazz plays on Cyril, only need one tagger.

Davies probably the Sub. Would imagine Aj goes to Cyril and Army plays midfield maybe on Bateman or Burgoyne.

Jamo in straightens us up I hope he is fit enough.

Go Blues

Rough on Tuohy – who I see as clearly a better player than Davies. Agree that Davies will probably be a sub and then be out the week after.Welcome back Jamo.

It's good the MC give a kid like Davies a go in such a big game, sends a msg to the likes of Bower they aren't walk up starts and need to be at the top of their game to get back into the side. Wouldn't even mind Davies getting a go on Buddy at some stage given the kid is super quick and is harder than a cats head.

Good also we have some genuine tough nuts on ball for tmrw nite - Lewis, Hodge, Sewell, and Mitchell won't take a backward step, but then neither will Ellard, Armfield, Judd, or Robbo.

I am tipping the Blues, because I think we tend to give our best for the big games. It's a sign of a team that is waiting for finals, and I think they will see tmrw night as a dress rehersal. It'll be red hot from the outset and I'm tipping a big game from Kruezer.

If Jamo is ready, its a very good line up

So, how are we going to fit Waite, JR and Hammer into the team for the finals ? Maybe just no room for Hammer at all, but gee he was looking good before he went down

Tough game to call. Blues by 5 points.

Yes but our biggest worry is their forward line so I think the MC has done the right thing by skewing the team a little more defensive. I don't expect Jamo to jet Buddy first up - he'll probably get Hale. I reckon Davies, Henderson and Laidler to rotate on Buddy with Duigan and Scotto dropping into the hole.

..as a KPF/2nd Ruck?, better than either Knockers or Hammer.. ..they both tend to go better as 1st Ruck, vs KPS/2nd Ruck....

Refer 2012 with a decent pre-season under his belt :thanks:

Darknavy, I'm not going to throw hard objects at you. Or nasty words for that matter.

I love the big fella Kruez but the reality is he wasn't firing when he did his knee (which is fine, he was and still is a kid), and apart from the freakish Syd game this year he hasn't blitzed in his return... which is to be expected and I note he has provided a solid presence as a fwd esp in the Pies game (just without the marks).

Personally Hampson has looked more exciting this year, at least in the few weeks prior to getting hurt.

Kruez has his excuses though and MC and coach obviously love him, I think right now more for his attitute (work ethic, hardness, second and third efforts) than for his dominant games (which are few and far between - again, he has reasons for this).

But in 2012 I'd like to think if Hammer is blitzing, and Kruezer is not, that the MC will play Hammer ahead of Kruez. There's no room for sentimentality when you're vying for the ultimate prize.

Look with Waite 29 next year ?? and injury prone, Kruez might need to develop as a fwd - I mean the boys Mitchell and Watson (likely a defender) are years off being senior walk ups. And Hendo arguably looks better down back. Though to be frank he hasn't totally convinced me as a player yet.

They are all trying to get back in. Listening to Icke he said that JR was a very important part of our finals campaign.

Waite rumours abound and I'm getting an uneasy feeling about him for the rest of the year. Hammer will need to rely on someone playing badly OR he comes in when we play the WCE to take on Cox and Nic Nats running power.

So why isn't JR in. From what I gather he has been returning to form in the Bullants. He is meant to be finally fit as well. If it is a straight swap between him and Davies, no contest.

No.

Look, it's about earning your right to get in, but also earning your right to stay in. Davies hasn't really put a foot wrong, had Coaches votes for the Melb game - how many did JR get before he got dropped??

It's not about being walk up starts, unless you're a Judd, Jamo, Waite, Murphy, Gibbs.

So, JR doesn't get in until someone in defense mucks up and gets dropped. You don't drop Davies when he;s doing well.

The other thing is, JR was turning it over a bit when he was playing this year, prob more than any other defender. Something to consider !

I don't know, but it seems a given now that the 'Pies will rotate players to keep a squad of 26+ players in the selection mix. The resoning is to give players a go at the big time, so they can accurately assess them. That way you are not wholly reliant on 22 tried and true.

Maybe JR is a known quantity, they know he's fit now and there 2 or three other guy's who may not be as good, but are not far off it. JR could come in at anytime without a hiccup.

Jammo on the other hand is also known quantity, but he's a special size and we don't have anyone anywhere near as good yet. He need match fitness in a hot contest, so he get's a gig.

I've got no doubt that JR will be in the finals side.
