Last week on Fox he said Carlton are Grand Finalists in his view, then a week later (after Ratten was so impressed with our game against Fre) he says Geelong and Collingwood are so far ahead of everylone else.

???

King has been adamant that Geelong won't beat Carlton in the finals. Guess he's looked at the likely draw and realised we may not get to play them unless we can past WCE at Subi in week 2.
Or Geelong are starting to impress him more.

Is this the David King who was sakced by Richmond as an assistant coach, or the David King whose playing career revolved around bombing the ball to Carey and running past Carey?

I think it's the one who shouts on the telly with the scrunched up face so as to look important.

He does seem to have a big wrap for us though.

No I think it's the one who uses too much dye in his hair.
he should go with 'Just For Men' I reckon.

I don't mind David King I think he is quite reasonable.
He does have two flags to his name which is 1 more than our entire list ....... I think.

Are you making excuses for his inconsistency?

Jesus christ we've become soft, what happened to the old navy blue arrogance????

Why all of a sudden do we worry about what third rate "journalists" say?

No different to Judd in our team. He will have a Carey like influence if we win a flag.

By the way he did go very early on Collingwood winning the flag last year.

The whinging and wining on this board is in full swing. I thought it was only when we are losing. But even when we win, people are upset if not everyone thinks we are top 2 when we will likely finish the season 5th.

As much as I hate to say it, I cant see anyone coming within any reasonable distance of beating Collingwood in the grand final.

That team is such a well tuned machine. Something would have to go horribly wrong.

To be fair, I think he said that Carlton play a unique/different brand of football that may challenge Collingwood, whereas he didn't think that the other top 5 teams can throw the pies off their game.

And he is right in saying that the top 2 teams are ahead of everyone else, but that's not to say they will face off in a Grand Final.

I think that King is one of the best analytical commentators that we have in AFL and I think he is correct in his assessments more often than he is wrong.

I agree.
David King is pretty fair.

I've seen King coach a senior school boys side a couple of times this year and he has been outstanding.
He's taken the boys development to another level this year and he should be in the AFL system in some sort of development role.
