Jamo a good chance to play against the hawks, same with Waite. Sounded though he would bd hesitant bringing back both the same week. Laughed at suggestion that Jamo wont play again this year

Carrots playing this week against freo

Scoffed at Russell rumours to GWS, said he is part of our best 22 and is contracted to next year.

Leaving Thursday morning to Perth

That was the nuts of it....

I've really noticed this year that Ratts' media skills have improved out of sight. He used to revert to the old ask the rhetorical question and then answer it. It was kind of like a nervous back-up line when questioned. This year, no question has had him stumped, he answers with personality and confidence as well as towing the company line. Good work.

The next step is to lift his enthusiasm a little bit with the way he speaks. If anyone has watched a Rex Ryan (coach of the NY Jets) press conference, you will know the standard of excitement that can be reached. He is the best at it.

Speaking of which, good old Chris Bryan is now their punter.

The minute Ratten starts doing anything to resemble Rex Ryan is the minute I stop listening :hitcomputer:
Channeling the media performances of someone like Mike McCarthy or Andy Reid would do him fine.

Well that basically means......
Carrazzo back this week
Waite to come in for the hawks game AND
Jamison to play against the saints

Sorry but Rex Ryan is a tool. I have seen him on the HBO doco 'Hard Knocks' when they highlighted the NYJ and thought he was shocking. Woeful coach.

Really Cazz?
Where do you pull that from?

He might be woeful in the media
But no way is he a mediocre coach.

He is at the top of his game.

His brother maybe be a bit too much mouth compared to what he's accomplished though.

Check out the HBO show and see him as he is behind the scenes and get back to me. Not the sort of man you would got to war with.

I guess it's a cultural thing Mr C.

You wouldn't find to many NFL players who wouldn't want to be a part of the Jets.

And actually a lot of players appreciate his mouth because it makes him the focus and let's them get about their business.

You only need to look at my av to know who I support, but I have to hand it to Ryan. They've reached two consecutive AFC championship games by winning playoff games on the road, no easy feat.

He might not be everyone's cup of tea but he is a great coach by any measure.

Anyway back to Ratts, sounds pretty positive - but then we've heard positive news before and been disappointed so I'll believe when I see them run out on to the ground!

You would hope that Jamo would have a run in the Bullants in the week of the bye (Round 23) before the Saints game.

Have I missed any?

Would you have Harvey at the bottom of that list?

Jamo's replied to a few people on twitter saying the plan is to return for the Hawks game. He's had enough time to rest and I expect him to be mature enough to have a good first game back.

Rex Ryan may not be everyone's type of person but one thing he does best in the world is give each of his players a huge amount of confidence.

He manages to get the city of New York excited about the Jets with his uncompromising passion. People do not like him because he is different, speaks his mind and is not the same old boring BS you hear from most other coaches. This is something Ratten needs to do a bit better. I would like to see him be a little more enthusiastic and bold. That was my point.

Overall, I think we have a great coach.

It is quite funny how the Russell to GWS started. Ratten was radio and asked about which players would be returning from injury soon. He mentioned Carrazzo, Jamo and Waite. Russell was playing in the Bullants so technically not injured. He was then asked about players leaving for GWS and what would his reaction be, he went on to say that he wouldnt play them.
Some caller then put 2 and 2 together, came up with 5 and rang to say that Russell must be going to GWS because Ratten didnt mention him coming back from injury.

Agree that he has improved immeasurably in this area -didnt hear this one but did an extended interview last saturday week on SEN and was excellent in the face of some better questioning than we are used to on SEN

I thought about emailing Swann it was so good - didnt couldnt find his email address but should have

This was one of my major reservations about Ratts ie how he represented the club and being able to articulate clearly the club wider strategies plans and also whether he could be at the forefront of footy debates/issues so that the club is well represented in that space

He has definitely won me over and whatever happens I would re-sign him

Unless I've missed something I believe we have a new leader in the "post with the least relevance to the thread title" competition.

Not really having a go technodeejay, just having a bit of fun.
