This is the part that worries me
Quote:
The Blues, however, face a furious race to get him match-fit for the finals

We all know what happens anytime we "race" someone back into the team after an injury. If he's not absolutely 100% I'd rather we focus on his pre-season and 2012.

My son is a physiotherapist and if it is ony a meniscus as they have been stating,
no way should it have taken this long, there is more to this than we know and i will be surprised if he plays again this year ,we have to come to terms with the fact that maybe Jammo might not come back

Of course he will play footy again I'm sure he doesnt have a debilitating disease.

But I believe we can't go far in September without him back and fit for the (perceived) Elimination Final against Essendon*.

Even keyhole arthroscopes can get infected post-surgery. More common in the 90's than today, but these things happen. Jamo is running as of this week. Can kick a ball, but not kicking it too far. Do I expect him back this year? No. But I've been wrong before. Not often mind you...but I have been wrong before.

I think we have to come to terms with the fact the club lie about our player's injuries for whatever reason and they'll come back when they come back.

Ratten just stated on Melbourne radio that Jamison will be back for the game against in Hawthorn in 10 days time.

You sir are stating that Jamison will not be back this year.

So in effect you are calling Brett Ratten a liar.

I think if we can get 2 games into him before finals, he will be fine. Play him in the bye week for the Ants and then against the Saints. He is the full back, it's more about timing and bursts of speed and don't forget he had a full pre season. He will not be as fit as some of the other boys but he will get through the games fine. If he had not had that pre season base then you would forget it. Don't lose hope until we know for sure he is gone.

Yep agree. Don't risk him next week if he isn't ready. Same with Waite.
At worse give them a run in the VFL and then StKilda game.

I've got all the time in the world for Ratts, but in this instance - while you're a touch dramatic about the whole thing, in essence - you are correct. They've been playing funny buggers for a looong time. It's silly. The article on the website quoting Armfield saying he's made a miraculous recovery was a complete fabrication.

Jamison couldn't break into a run on Friday. I fail to see the point of bringing him back having been out this long. There's no point.

Doc, any thoughts on why they continue to play funny buggers re injuries? Personally, it drives me bloody mad. If Jamo's out for the season, I'd prefer to know that.

Let's not forget there's about 8 weeks remaining if you count the finals. No point booking in Jamo for pre-season just yet.

Yeah I know, but I reckon this sort of thing has been going on for a couple of years at least. I don't see the benefit to anyone. Drives supporters mad, and surely opposition clubs would be well aware of when a player's about to come back anyway. Struggling to see the benefit of it.

Only the ones that pay too much attention to it and stress over every injury report.

It's good value following the reaction here to injuries...I hope they keep the policy going.

Key pair back soon

Ratten is confident Jamison will play next weekend with a decision to be made on whether that is in the VFL or against Hawthorn on Friday night.
