If I had to pick a game to lose out of the 3 we have left, this is it. If Freo win, it puts a lot more pressure on Ess to make the 8. It would be nice to see them finish 9th. Also, lets face it, even if we win all our remaining games, we will still finish 5th because of the Eagles easy draw.

Of course, I would rather win but it's just a thought. Best case scenario is that we win the 3 we have left and somehow Bris beat WC at the Gabba. Ess then loses to the WB with Freo winning their last few games. That would set up our first final v Freo.

Don't want to drop any, if we drop it against Freo, its definitely top 4 out of our grasp

Waite is listed as Test.

Would not be surprised if he doesn't make the trip. N

Ohalipin is a certainty to be included this week.

Two tall forwards are required at Paterson Stadium.

I'd agree with this. Carlos can cause damage on the big ground.

Mark Harvey just then on his regular Tues night spot on Ch 7 Perth:

Whinge whinge whinge.....travel.....whinge whinge whinge.....sub rule.....whinge whinge whinge....injuries.....and then he finished with this nugget.....'we have a very good record against them'.

Tool of the highest order.

Let's smash these pretenders this week.

Harvey by that comment means that he has locked this game away as 4 points for the Dockers.

Hope this gets back to the players that Fremantle do not respect Carlton.

It always makes me laugh when teams go on about their "recent good record against Carlton", conveniently forgetting the fact that for the majority of the last ten years we were shithouse.

Totally agree, there are commentators (in addition to Dwayne Russell) who mention Carlton's recent poor record against such and such.

I'm sure many of them believe that we were actually the greatest side to have ever played the game between 2003 and 2007, but the only reason we lost was because we were tanking, and as a consequence have a poor record against the Swans, North etc!

IN: Carrazzo
OUT: Houlihan

We could also see Brock make way for Army or Setanta.

Davies, Henderson, Duigan
Tuohy, Laidler, Yarran
Simpson, Robinson, Scotland
Gibbs, Thornton, Garlett
Kreuzer, Walker, Betts
Warnock, Judd, Murphy

Carrazzo, Ellard, McLean, Joseph(s)

Joseph may start on the field though and go to Ballantyne.

In the coming weeks expecting..

IN: Waite, Jamison, Russell, Carrazzo
OUT: Davies, Joseph, Houlihan, McLean/Tuohy

Agree with those ins and outs. I think the Perth is too big for McLean so i agree that either Setanta or Armfield will come in, my guess is Setanta.
There must also be some doubt on Yarran who said on TV that his hamstrings were tight, not worth the risk at this time of the year.

Joseph may start on the field though and go to Ballantyne.

I think legitimately the issue is the two bold names. Mundy is their far and away best midfielder. It's akin to us losing Judd. Sandilands prior to going down was the best ruck in the competition. Cox has risen since, but it was Sandilands. Losing him I suppose is like us having both Warnock and Hampson out of action at the same time, but he's better than both of those two combined.

Mundy/Sandi out I think eclipses Waite/Jamison. But that's just my opinion.

I'm not so sure. I think McLean stays in the team if his present form continues. He has been more than reasonable in his two showings. He is tough as nails. Not sure how many players would get up with the staggers of a drunk man that Brock had in the fourth quarter, push trainers away and run it off.

Another strong game against Freo and he deserves to stay. Joseph appears to be part of the plan, too.

Selection dilemmas aside, a stable side is probably the most important thing at this time of year?

Would rather White come in than Setanta, and play Thornton forward. Better chance that White plays finals than o'hAilpin.

If Sandilands comes in, then I guess Setanta offers more value in that we'd need Kreuzer to play more gametime in the ruck, instead of the luxury of him up forward.

However, it's still short term thinking at the expense of long term planning, and all a moot point if Waitey is fit.

Off the top of my head, those blokes would all be playing if they were fit and ready to go.

Mundy, Sandilands, Hayden & Griffin would make them much more of a threat. They are completely non-competitive in the ruck at the moment.
