Not sure I agree that Hawks vs Dogs is our best bet. Dogs have been sub-standard basically since they beat us - which, in hindsight, looks even more starkly like our worst performance for the year.

I'm banking on the Eagles losing one of their last four:
Melbourne (Etihad) - the Dees are due to put some form together and will bring back some talent after making a selection 'statement' against us - Jurrah, Sylvia, Jamar, etc, will probably be slipped back in.

Essendon* (Patersons) - Dons are playing for their season every week from here on in and will hopefully have a few defenders back.

Brisbane (Gabba) - more just hope that the longest trip in football undoes them.

Adelaide (Patersons) - not out of the question that the Crows continue building some momentum under Bickley, massive disappointment so far this year but, as they showed against us and Collingwood for three quarters, can be damaging when allowed to get going.

Eagles obviously start favourite in each game but I just think that they're due - had two weeks where they sneaked over the line until a week off against the Tigers - I'm confident they'll drop one and think the Dees are a decent chance to do it this week.

I think the bigger question mark is whether we can win our last three - think Freo and Saints we have covered but the Hawks is my query - MCG, I'd be confident, Etihad I'm not so sure.

Looks pretty certain we'll come fifth and looking over the fixtures, im pretty confident Essendon* will come eight. I think Freo and North are shot. It's possible we could meet Sydney, but i think Carlton vs Essendon* in week 1 looks a moral.

We beat Essendon*, then we'll have to travel to Subiaco. I think we could beat them over there though, given we dont have any injuries in the coming weeks and with a week to freshen up with the bye, we'll have pretty much a full strength team to choose from. Eagles do have their injury concerns and will be coming off a punishing finals loss to Collingwood in week 1.

In as many words ...yes!

They have a knack those black and red dogs..we deserve to go through but we've choked the last 2 years, a suddden death elimination against the dons with them severe underdogs and pretty much nothing to lose and us having a sensational year but missing top 4 on the fact the top tier is so far in front of everyone else and with everything to lose it doesn't bode well.

Has 99 prelim written all over it! This time opposite way round!

If we are good enough and bring our best endeavours and if we've learnt from the past 2 years we'll win and win well...however its Essendon* in a final! Would rather the Dockers or Sydney at Etihad and i hate us at Etihad!

I am coming back for the 1st Final and we will win.

If we do finish 5th then I have full confidence that whoever we meet we can blow them away.

Today's Blues play only one good quarter of football and still win by 76 points, we are just not the same team that we were even 2 years ago.

This could be the start of our next golden era, have the confidence and enjoy it.
