Starting to wonder if Hampson even gets a look in. Not because I don't think Hampson is our #2, but as the MC have avoided this decision at all costs this year, and it may be too late. Would be quite tough on Warnock for them to essentially switch horses this late in the season on what is effectively a 50/50 decision too.

Like your style Rhino.................we got a gaping hole at CHF Rhino.Do you reckon Kruze or Hammer could step up to CHF and allow all three to play ? dont know whether it would work myself but would me more than happy to have a crack as we have no hope in the finals unless we can fix this spot.

Waite....

Thats right J & K.

Garlett Waite (robbo/judd/gibbs/murphy/simpson)
Betts Krooz Walker

Looks pretty complete to me.

Our next 3 matches until the end of the season are important ones for setting up our finals run, so I can take the players slacking off a little and lairising a bit knowing that once the match was secured, Melbourne weren't going to seriously challenge.

As long as the players know that as of 5pm yesterday, the real season starts, and it's time to get into the right headspace. Ratts knows it, and expressed his disappointment, so I'm confident that the MC and coaching staff will get them right.

I just hope the training loads are up and we are making sure that wherever we finish in the 8 we are fit and ready. If lifting those trainign loads cost us a game or two then so be it.

Id imagine the saints and hawks will be ramping up their training from here on too so that should balance out with ours so i reckon we should still have a good chance of beating them two.

I was hoping our training was ramped up over the last month and now we're settling down into a program for the finals.

Left the ground yesterday and wasn't too impressed with a 76pt win, was glad to hear Ratts had a similar view - just shows how far our club has come.

What was apparent yesterday was that our back line structures still needs a little work, regardless of personnel. We allowed the Dees way too many shots on goal which flattered the scoreline at the end of the day. Our midfield won't be able to dominate every minute of a game and that's where the backs will have to hold their own. The Dawks have done a good job of covering their lost talls by modifying their positioning. Thornton does a good job as a floating defender so pushing him back when Waite returns may be an option.

So many experts. Last 2 weeks we have all lauded the performance of Duigan, he has a rough day and you all want him dropped for a rest.
I say play the man. He has more knowledge and insight in his own performance that we will ever have.

I hope that Waite, Cazz and Jordi are ready to go this week. Would also like to see if Hampson was also available.

With Freo short on defenders, maybe strech them out with 3 rucks.

People at the game blaming Brock for everything yesterday are unbelievable.....

So what Duigan, Simmo had bad days yesterday. They killed themselves the previous weeks. Give them a break!

I reckon carazzo for Davies
Setanta for Hoops

Not sure how it all works but i have noticed that top teams seem to drop easy games in the last few rounds when they are loading up.

My gut tells me teams look at the draw at the start of the year and pick times to peak as i doubt it is possible to be peaking all year.
From what i have seen at training and at games we looked to set ourselves to hit a peak for the last collingwood game. Training heavily the weeks around WC game. Curnow also mentioned this in an interview.
Just guessing but i reckon we are at the end of a cycle and will be looking to the weeks leading up to the bye to really ramp up the loads.

I am sure the high performance experts at the club are all over it. Looking forward to watching how it unfolds.

re Duigan, its funny how we all see the game differently. I thought Duigs was best on ground after Juddy.

On a different note, went down to Broady Telechoice this morning to see Walks and Scotty. Gotta say I hate waiting in lines for anything, but the guys were absolutely fantastic. Kudos to both of them. They were bubbly, very talkative ( especially Scotty), and gave us all the time in the world. My daughter finally got Walks to sign her Number 1 jumper she has had since he was drafted. Took photos etc. It was great to see players who wanted to be there, and enjoying the atmosphere. WELL DONE BOYS, and WELL DONE CARLTON.

How many views of one player's game could there be?

I laughed when Walls mentioned giving Duigan a spell, for he was in everything, but his kicking was very lazy in that first half. I can see what posters regurgitating Doc's call mean - his kicking looked tired, but he is the sort of player whose efforts are very good and continued.

Which brings me to everyone calling for AJ's head after yet another win (personal win) and yet another good game. Pretty clear that Ratts' rates him and pretty clear he is retained in the team for his desperation and good defensive work. Dodgy up & under kick but if you get the ball in the hands of those that can kick it from defence, and we have a few of them now, perhaps the MC think he's a better bet.

I agree. Duigan worked hard and has the last few weeks. If people think he looks tired then other players in the team should look like they are snoring.

I thought he looked like ok, but like he has on a few games this year, he wasn't tip top.

I think a few people parroting Rob Walls, he must have said it 5 times in the course of the game.

I'm sure if he needed a rest they would have given him one this week against the contusionless ones.

Haven't seen the replay, so just going on sitting at ground level.

1st quarter seemed to be beaten around the ball. Dees missed many shots they should of kicked and had much more time in possession. That said when we moved the ball it was a class above. At Quarter time thought we should have been 2 down, but were 2 up

2nd Quarter good old fashioned blitz, they should have kicked 1 or 2 but at least 6 goals better. Judd and the roving of Ellard in the 50 were sublime. just some great goals. everyone stepped up a notch, with Gibbs and Murph also great.

3rd and 4th Pretty boring to be honest. Only interesting thing was to see Hendo in the forward 50 for a while. The 3 posters and other easy miss was ordinary, but still increased the lead

At least the little bloke had a great time waving the flag for every goal

So when is the Laguna article on Senior Murphy coming out? I've been anticipating this more than the next Caroline Wilson article.

Are you sure it wasn't Justin Murphy?
