Yeah it is 3 years - Schwarz incorrectly stated on SEN it was 2. Just changed the thread title.

Great news, two of our most important players. I hope this casts aside any speculation about bad blood between Walker and the Club and stops every reporter mentioning the last trade week every article about him now.

As a bonus, now that distraction's out of the way Walker can concentrate on coming home with the Coleman. 10 goals today?

He was pick 45, so I'm guessing that's a genuine typo. ;)

Simmo was never in doubt but I thought Walks would make us sweat a little, but credit to him and the club for getting it out of the way so early.

Just goes to show the confidence around the place atm...

That's team players playing a team sport.

Simpson I think is deserving of it.

Walker is more interesting and deserved an extension, but I'm guessing if he didn't get 3 years he was Walking to somewhere like GWS.

The question mark is open about big games. Of the 9 he's played in, his goal average drops to 1.6 (from 2.4), and possession is slightly less than average, but his marking ability remains consistent (4.2 vs Top 8, 4.4 season average).

But overall he has only had 4 bad games this year against Essendon*, Collingwood, St Kilda (all first half of the year) and the Western Bulldogs - where the entire team was ordinary.

It'll be interesting to note the difference when Waite returns.

Great news.

Walks has a role now. A clear role within the team structure and not one that involves him being a permanent utility.

Kade is a star. A brilliant pick @ 45 and a bloke that along with Scotland always plays well, even when we've been rubbish.

Great stuff and a real leader.

Agree bh, players like Walker and Waite who have oodles of natural ability and talent but who also can lose concentration sometimes need a clear and defined role and both now have it.
And Simmo is a beauty - well done ShaneO
