Pretty odd thought process, to give a guy a token mercy game to reach his 200th, when you can't do the same for a player to reach his 100th and therefore reach father/son status.

There may have been a bit of internal fallout/change of heart in hindsight over the Fish scenario last season... who knows?

I'd like to see that  Would be good to play Irish if he was ready, as he'd enjoy the biffo. Strange that Ratts said that Carrots was "running superbly" at training, then not selected ?

Good to see Carlos and Lucas as the emergencies, they might be getting close.

JR, Jammo, Carrots, Waite, Carlos, Curnow, Hammer and Lucas.

Potentially a big change in the playing personell between now and the GF.

I heard Brad "I pawned me Brownlow" Hardie saying clubs need a squad of 28-30 guy's at this time of year for a succesful finals push (according to the Collingwood model IHO), looks like we've got them.

No offence intended to Hoops, but why on earth would GWS be interested in him?

What did Fisher do against the Pies that was so good?

Fisher wouldn't have added any defensive pressure and pace in a must win game against Essendon*.

The Hampson, Warnock, Henderson, Betts, Garlett and Waite forward set up smashed them.

Houlihan is still a chance to come into the side.

Possible reasons :-
Not yet match fit.
Not reading the play that well or the ball flight at VFL level.
MC think at this moment in time the forward line functions better with Thornton in it.

Agree. Stick a fork in him.

Re Fish.....I dare say had the sub rule been in he would have played his 100th. Conversely, if it hadn't, Hoops would be stranded on 199.

The Richmond game the following week was the one in which to get him to 100. We were going to win that game regardless of who lined up for us.

If Lucas gets a game, does that mean he is in contract negotiations & rejected GWS?
All of Ratts' talk about loyalty must have finally convinced him  :smoking:

Think hoops should have been given more of a chance - Can't understand it unless it was purely a stint to get to 200.
I don't follow where we are up to at all regarding injuries - thought Carrots would have been walk up start if fit and had the impression Russell was close. It sure seems like there is more going on than we are being told -which can be fair enough.

Having said that I would love to know how far away Bower, Carrots, Russell, Hammer, Waite, Jamo really are.

Also do you think we should rotationally rest Murph/Judd/Simmo/Scotland before the finals (apart from the bye?

With a top 4 chance still possible we will not be resting anyone.

The bye for us this year will come at a very good time and I just hope the Hawks or Eagles drop a game and we are back in control of our Top 4 destiny.
