Good report Davo

Hope you don't mind but I posted that on the Carlton Flogbook page (gave you credit) to hopefully kill off a few doomsayers over there...

Happy to wait until our second final against the eagles.

Bring him back against the saints, that way we don't rush him too much but also get a game into him before the finals...let's be honest 4th is a bit unrealistic now so the Hawks game may not matter anyway

Players and team medical staff always pull out this chestnut. Remember Judd in his crippled last year at the Eagles. I refuse to believe that such a high impact sport like AFL doesnt aggravate any leg injury.

Dr. Jamison I presume? The surgery was 6 weeks ago this week. He's not yet put the footy boots on. He's running, yes - but not done any contact work nor sharp lateral movements. He'll soon have found out that other areas of the leg start to ache as other muscles compensate for the loss of strength in the quad.

If he returns for the Hawks game, he'll do so with significant loss of match fitness and will have to get used to a jab (possibly cortisone) in the knee prior to the game. While I hope he returns, I'm not holding out any hope he'll come back as the Michael Jamison we had running around in the number 40 earlier in the year.

I know I'm a nervous Nellie, but truly if he isn't absolutely 100% this year, then I'd rather they focus on getting a really solid pre-season into him so we don't have any problems next year (when our assault on the flag REALLY begins). He's too valuable, and our track record with bringing guys in when there's even the slightest cloud over them isn't good.

One of the surgery options is removing the damaged section of the meniscus, so it could actually be true.

Seems like barring any further injuries in the next few weeks, we'll have pretty much a full list to chose from in the last few weeks of H&A / Finals..

Id imagine he will probably play VFL whilst we have the bye in round 23, and come back for the saints game...

So the question is ........... is a partially fit Jamison better than no Jamison ??????

I'd like to see Jamo have a run in the VFL the week of the Carlton bye then return for Stkilda. That gives him over a month from now before he actually plays. 10 weeks all up would be my preferred fail safe before he plays the 1st VFL game. If he happens to play a half in the VFL the week we play the Hawks, then a full VFL game, then back for StKilda so be it.

Regards Cazzesman

I'd expect him to come back and probably play more of the stopper role, and less of the rebounding dashing Jamo we saw this season. Which would still be a useful addition to our backline, especially if Hendo can continue the excellent rebounding work he's been doing of late.

I ripped my memiscus a few years ago. They cant replace the ripped part just take out the ripped part and smooth the rest out. Dont know if this has changed
Whoever said 4 weeks has no idea or not telling the truth
Even though I was 45 when I did mine it would take at least 10 weeks to get it right even at Jamo's age

That and the fact he was allowed back on the ground despite the doctor's obvious concerns is extremley poor by the club people who demanded he go back on.
Turning and twisting changing direction will be the true test.

its important that the club doesnt play unfit players in finals
Its amazing how nearly every year teams do it and pay a price
I want Jamo in the team ,but if he isnt right and has lost too much fitness he shoudnt play.

And a game with the ants is a must.

Jamo wouldnt have gone back on without the doctors approval. Anyone who still thinks the coach can demand an injured player go back on has been left behind by the way footy is played hese days.
