Similarly to original post i have been keeping a track of it, and up until last weekend
i had Murph 2 in front of Judd.
Judd would undoubtedly get 3 votes against Dons and had Murphy for 1 so that makes
them level according to my script.
I have tried to allow for the umps (only natural) love affair with Juddy, if anything i have
tried to score him "unders", so he may be miles ahead after all.

But having said all that bollocks, its still a great wrap for Murph that he is in the same
stratosphere as the "triple" brownlow medallist in waiting.
Spewing i dindt get on at the 30/1 though !!!
Got on at 12/1 each way.

Those 2 cauliflower McBurney & Vosso gave about 4 holding the ball against Judd

Nil votes tonight

Swallow also had quite a number of frees against him

3 Gibbs
2 Murphy
1 Swallow

Agree with that.

Double figures in the brownlow count for Gibbs.

Pendlebury another quality game for the Pies, but Swan will get the chocolates with his 45 possessions.

I don't think it's all the way Judd this year like the media would have you believe.

But this weekend against Melbourne he has a great chance for 3 votes once again.

Swan apparently had it in the bag last year and we all know how that turned out.

Getting more and more concerned that Pendlebury will win it.

Simpson and Scotland are more chance of getting votes than Murphy.

True, but thats the only 'up' for swan gaining form... he will/should steal votes!

Exactly. If the umps had any clue it would be Simpson, Scotland and Swallow sharing the votes last Friday. So needless to say, Juddy will collect the three and move on.

Swallow gave 6 free kicks away as well...

Fair enough Effes, throw him in as well..

Seriously though, good point - I should have had him in there. My main point being that neither Murph or Judd were near the votes in my mind, and that those three probably had the best performances across the four quarters. In a low scoring match though, four goals is critical so Gibbs could well get up.

Personally I would have had Hendo above Murph and Judd as well.

edit: Any chance of me typing properly today??? :banghead:

Please.

Brownlow is overrated.

Fancy relying on umpires' votes.

Team game anyway; who cares who wins it (providing he's not from the filth).

Pendles looking good for mine too. He's had a good season, if he didn't play for Collingwood (or Essendon*) I'd speak more highly of him.

If Judd goes in as favourite & a Collingwood player wins it I might go into hiding for a little while

@sportsbetcomau has declared the 2011 @AFL #brownlow over and has paid out $300,000+ on @carlton_fc's Chris Judd to win!

I don't understand the subtleties of bookmaking.

Can someone explain why they would pay out now when there's still a chance he won't win.?

Yeah, it's pretty rediculous.

What happens if he gets suspended? (Pressure point! Pressure point!)

It opens up the market. Judd is clear favourite, so they close that line down and pay out, meaning any other bets have to be on outsiders thus increasing the chance of a non return and the bookie keeping the $$$

If however Judd doesn't win they've lost 300k plus the $$$ they take for the winner...

They did a similar thing and paid out Richmond for the wooden spoon after they were 0-9. Richmond didn't get the spoon
