Confidents will be very important going into this finals series

It's a huge advantage.

However, it wouldn't bother me finishing 5th especially if the Weagles can leap frog the Dawks & finish 3rd, that then means we will play all of our finals in Melbourne & hopefully at the G, but the Weagles need to make up some big % on the Dawks!!!

Go Norf....& Blues must put Melbourne's season beyond doubt!

Are you for real. How badly does a team need to lose before you'd say their season is beyond doubt. I reckon they just put their decade beyond doubt!!!

We've kissed top 4 goodbye. Not going to happen.

Melbourne will most likely finish in 8th position  . That's after losing to us and WCE. We will play them from 5th position then play WCE in Perth. We'll be relatively fresh having come off the bye just 4 weeks earlier and having just played at Subi 3 weeks earlier. Not the end of the earth yet.

It's pretty astounding to think that a team that just lost by 186 points can still make the finals.

Of course it is, but it can be won from 5th.

Generally the consensus is that Prelim finals are won because 1 team has had a weeks rest and is in a better physical position to beat the team that has played 2 finals.

The fact that we have the bye in r23 this year, is a major advantage for us. Playing 3 finals in a row before the Grand Final is not as big of an issue for teams like the Pies who will have played 11-12 weeks consecutively.

Also, i still think WC will drop a game somewhere... They are looking very tired and have nearly been overrun a few times of late..Freo were down byy 22 with a few minutes to go, and Dogs were 50 down...They play a taxing game, combine that with their travel and their youthfullness and I can see them dropping a game they expected to win...

In the words of Shane Whitnall...Go Tiges!!

No doubt the AFL will be wondering how they allowed this to happen .

We weren't going to make the finals this year cos we're no good, remember?

I'm talking about the injustice of Collingwood playing 12 games straight without a bye when other teams (like us) have a clear advantage. I expect that vigorous enquiries will be made.

We can just say the Bye 'asked' to play us in R23. Not our problem.

In one foul swoop.

Thats is what i have been saying all along Duke. We are still well placed. Key is to make sure we prepare for the finals with heavy training loads around the bye.
Top 6 with a late bye has never been measured. 5th with a late bye could well be the new top 2.

If we get sucked into busting our arses trying to get into the top 4 at the expense of our own mental and physical fitness in the actual finals then we are very silly.

We will finish top 4 after the finals.
