- Hendo. Jamo's been working with him and it shows.
- Simmo. So courageous (but would not get a game at Essendon* )
- Duigan. So courageous (but would not get a game at Essendon* )
- Tuohy. A few stuff ups, but he is learning fast.
- Yaz. He's resurrected his career, apparently.
- Jeffy's chase down of Harvey and everyone in my area absolutely giving it to Harvey. Lol.

CONS
- Warnock. No confidence, offers bugger all around the ground.
- Robbo looked a bit down (for Robbo).
- Goal kicking. 1.7 in the second quarter PLUS 2 OOFs is pathetic at an indoor stadium.
- Holding the ball decision against Judd in the first quarter.
- Deliberate OOB decision against Laidler late in the last quarter.
- Still too many crap attempts at tackles.

What a fine line between ecstasy and agony. That final quarter was outsanding...Great team effort...15+ players kept at at it til the end... but gibbs was just superb. Thank god we don't play finals at etihad.
Only plays in danger of losing their spot IMO are Warnock, Houlihan, Davies, Thornton, Mclean (but showing signs), Armfield.
Can't wait for Waite for Waite to straighten us up!!!!
Now that we have Hendo, I reckon Waite is more important than Jammo.

Forgot to add GIBBS.

Did Norf just forget about him?

Oh yeah ,
And Thank God Yazz has "resurrected his career". I thought he would be de-listed for sure.

Pros (in no order):
- Heath Scotland. Lost count of how many marks he took to protect our defensive 50 when Norf were on the attack. kept us in the game for those shaky first coupla quarters. If Waite and Jamo are our bookends, Pops is certainly one of the biggest books on the shelf. Play til you're 40!

- Lachie Henderson. Taking a daunting new role in his stride and committing to it each week, with vast improvement. Kept Petrie very quiet - he didn't get "monstered" by any stretch. The media loves to beat up Hendo for his total inexperience but he's using his body well and surprises me each week with his pace rebounding the ball out of the backline. His long-term future may be in the forward line but he's shown enough to be a great defender also. I'm convinced - keep him in CHB for finals, with Jamo, Russell, Yarran, Duigan, Laidler and Hendo, we've got a pretty solid back 6.

- Bryce Gibbs. "Mr Fix It" was everywhere tonight and really was the glue that kept it together. His 4 goals were priceless and kept us in touch. Enough said, he'd come close to the 3 votes for mine tonight.

- Kade Simpson playing out of his skin tonight! The last few weeks he's had a lot go right for him at long last, he always works his butt off and gets a bit unlucky with the ball but he was so impressive tonight, such a big tank and just goes all night. His contested 1 on 1 ground work was phenomenal.

- Nick Duigan, Take a bow son. Down a little last week and delivered in spades this week. I love his composure and his grit, he just gets it done. Every week he adds at least one more courageous 'with the flight' mark to his highlight reel and this week is no different - that mark was a gamechanger and really sealed the fate of the game.

- Brock McLean. A very serviceable return to the seniors. 16 touches, game high 9 tackles, no glaring incident where he 'slowed us down.' Give him another game and see what he's got, with a bit more confidence to take the game on his experience could be handy.

Honorable mentions: Getting the 4 points, breaking the Norf hoodoo and winning at Etihad, another gutsy win which shows we're mentally tougher than last year. Laidler had a great game, Tuohy played very well after a couple of downers, Ellard muscled up, Judd's goal was awesome, Robbo's big hit at quarter time, Armfield another great game.

Cons:
-Chris Yarran. Like Walker and his jumping at everything, someone needs to tell Yaz that just because he can outrun a Ferrari in 4th gear doesn't mean he has to try every time. I've noticed the last 4-5 weeks he seems to be getting a little 'cocky' with his pace, wants to run at everything and everyone and it's not working. He runs it out of the goalsquare 90% of the time, cruising up the field bouncing like an NBA player and it's predictable. Needs to start looking for targets as well, his rebound is good when it isn't his only trick.

-Hoops. Why? Pretty miffed. Sub. 1 tackle, 1 handball. Yay. Memorable 200th, cheers for your service Ryan, the fans appreciate it even if the Club don't. Nice framed plaque you got though. :banghead:

-Umpiring was a disgrace. I never complain about them and feel like we should be able to rise above a couple of bad calls and win on our terms, but the incompetence really was strangling the flow of the game and the boys' resolve tonight. Watching Judd drop an F Bomb on Friday Night TV said it all. There's gonna be a fair bit looked at in this game by The Giesch in the coming week but it's clear that deliberate out of bounds is the focus rule for this weekend (but there's no focus rule, pfffft). At least the goal umpires got it right.

-Goalkicking. 'Nuff said. What the f**k was going on? There's no wind and it's like there was a magnet drawing the ball to the behinds. If we'd kicked even half the easy goals we missed, the momentum would have shifted so quickly we'd have won by 80. Instead, we kept Norf in the game and gave them belief they could steal it from us. Furthermore, we ruined our own confidence to take the game on like we usually do. Reminded me of Sydney most of this season, scraping home against crap teams despite dominating them in scoring shots. When we're 11 points down and I say, "Well, we only need 12 shots to be in front," it's not a good output. Needs work, hoping it was just "one of those nights."

-Army's ankle. Looked shocking on the replay, I thought he'd snapped a shinbone (wouldn't that have been apt?). Hopefully he's okay, his last two games have been very valuable.

Dishonorable mentions: The time it took to work out that Simmo's kick hit the post, listening to media next week saying we're still no good, flogs out there parroting the old 'McLean's too slow, trade him' without checking the stats and watching properly, another 8 days until we see the boys demolish the Dees.

Pros:
With Norf flooding numbers into defence, it was a game set up for defenders. But I thought our defensive group played well. Slashing game from Yarran. Hendo did his job well. Duigan and Laidler were very good. And liked what I saw from Tuohy and Davies (showed some toe I haven't seen before).
Well done MC for the shift of Gibbs forward. You've got to think we'll see a bit more of this.
Didn't impress all that much, but glad that McLean got a whole game. I hope they give him another.
Kreuzer competed well up forward.
Simmo.
Armfield's job on Wells.
Final quarter of Murphy and Judd.

Cons:
Inability to apply scoreboard pressure by kicking straight. Could well have been a pretty comfortable win. We always seem to be really wasteful in games against Norf. Someone needs to do some work with Warnock on his goalkicking. He's actually a beautiful field kick normally, but he's really got the yips. Garlett looks like he might be getting them as well.
Scott Thompson and Andrew Swallow ducking their heads in every contest.
Juddy normally gets a pretty good run, but tonight he was stiff on loads of occasions. Wonder if Norf put in a call to Giesch again (as they did last year) in the lead up to the game.

First time since R6 against the Cats last year Brock looked up with the pace of the game. Don't know what the haters are on about, certainly a lot better than Curnow of recent weeks. Maybe some people are just determined so have their pre conceived opinions justified.

People wanted someone to kick because the forwards were missing and we were behind. He showed good signs first game back and if he can improve next week he'll start to really benefit the team.

I liked how he was running into space, seemed to be reading the play well. If he can get his disposals to 20+ per week, that will be a massive bonus for us. Would rather 20 Brock Rochester than 20 Curnow ones.

The fact we scrapped out a win against a team who we thought may have had our measure, at a ground we are up and down at, after a quarter or two where we were behind, and after kicking like crap at goal.

That is a start.

Hampson, Waite, Jamison, Carrazzo and potentially Russell.

That gives us hope.

Lets hope the bulldogs do the eagles today, that would see us flying high :-)

That had nothing to do with it at all Sin, regarding the comments about Brock.

Apparently McLean was supposed to return as Judd/Pendlebury/Ablett all rolled into one player.
He was OK.

How was Petrie allowed to cannon into 2 players backs when they marked without any intention of going for the ball. No 50 metres for Duigan, no free for Simpson. Yet Sawllow gets a 50 for Thornton trying to spoil him when he marks on the point post.

The free against Walker in the 2nd when he and the Kangas player both went for the ball on the ground, Walker got there first but because the Kanga player got winded, he gets the free. WTF

Deliberate OOB against Duigan and Laidler were a joke when in the 3rd I think, Roo player kicked it 30m straight at the boundary from the corridor without a teammate in sight and Zeibell goes up unopposed fo a mark and punches it OOB.

Pro: Watching AFL 360 to watch Scott tell us why Carlton won
Con: All he'll do is tell us how the Roos lost it

Because the Carlton players didn't do the patented Monfrees head wobble. Unlike Swallow.

Simmo, Duigan, Scotland, Laidler, gibbs marking ability
Hendo - Has got his pace back!! If we do swing him forward, I think we will see a very different hendo
Judds goal - set shot outside 50. Great to have him mentally confident in his set shots coming into finals (the only possible concern ever)
Yaz - Excitement machine. Even though he may go a little to far sometimes, I still feel confident he will get himself out of trouble. Adds so much drive
Robinson - I think people are starting to hesitate at the contest when he is near. intimidation factor??

CONS
If norf can rebound that easily against us, then we need to tighten that up a little before september. I know we are all streaming forward hard, so maybe it is more about our delivery inside 50?
Warnock set shot and being pushed off the ball - did anyone see Petrie just push him aside at one point?
