Half time here in Perth on the replay.

Geez we butchered numerous chances at goal. Should really be 5-6 up instead of 2 down.

Should have thrashed them.

Umpiring was a joke - even Judd blew his cool.
The Geish cannot possibly defend that rubbish.

Hendo held up ok.

We are winning ugly without Jamo and Waite.
Starting to become the real deal.

Unfortunately Channel 7 is here to stay, just need to mute the volume and pretend they're not there.
McAvaney and Richo = halfwits. Potentially mentally impaired. but need to confirm that with a specialist.

Well done Houla.
Not always the most loved, but still here after 200 tough ones.

Probably one of the worst decisions I have seen in the AFL for some time.

:screwy:

When the extremely incompetent Jeff Gieschen is in charge of the bozos that make decisions like this is it any wonder.

He couldnt play, he couldnt coach - spent most of the time knifing people in the back, never umpired and now is ruining the game of football after ruining every other thing he has touched in his professional life.

Please retire now.

Nearly spilt a fresh stubby of Carlton when I saw that one. Hilarious, as were many other decisions.

It's the first and only time I have ever seen Judd spit it at the umpires. The umpire did blow the whistle before Judd kicked it, though. And Judd did go the full length of the field in the tackle and then try the full 360 before the umpy blew it. It WAS technically correct.

There were worse decisions made on the night. It happens every week and both sides win some and lose some. I NEVER complain about the umpiring. They have a shit job, nobody likes them because they are maggots and they are also out of bounds. Unfortunately, they are also an important part of proceedings.

I just wish Razor Ray would stop thinking the players are there on the field so the supporters have a reason to come along and watch him at work. (I know he didn't do tonight's game. It is a general comment)

Umpires are getting a bit tighter on Juddy. They're anticipating all the grief they're going to get from the neutrals with he wins Charlie again so they're trying to show they treat him like any other player.

Simpson was Carlton's best tonight, his courage to put his body on the line in the last quarter was outstanding.

Well they do have injuries, so he's not without a shot.

Ugly win, take the points

Thought Simmo was probably bog (for us, swallow was in a league of his own tonight)
Scotland, murph, gibbs not far behind

Excellent games from hendo, duigs and laidler. All so solid down back. What pickups laidler and duigan have been.

I think a couple of players have to go before finals if we are to be a real contender. Davies, I think he'll be good but doesnt have the composure at the moment. I don't think he really believes he belongs out there right now. Warnock, just not up to it the moment. Too weak in the contest and can't really compete. How many contested marks has he taken this year? One or two? I think my grandma could outbody him. Hampson for finals please.

I would be hoping for finals
In hampson out warnock
In Carrazzo out - McLean (or armfield? Tuohy?)
In Waite out ???
In Jamison out Davies

Play jamo and hendo as key defenders. Waitey forward

Good win in a scrappy game....but the cream finally did rise to the top when it mattered, and the Blues did what they had to do

I think that we have found our the answer for our permanent CHB in Henderson, he reads the play well and rebounds with speed and effective disposal most of the time. When Jammo eventually does return at FB having another big body to help him out will really add some depth to the defence. Add to this mix the recruits of the year Duigan and Laidler along with the Rolls Royce Yazz splitting the game wide open at will and we have the makings of a Premiership defence.

If Hampson can recapture the form he had before he left, then Warrnock can go back to being the back-up in the Ants. With Waite and Setanta creating havoc and opportunities for Jeffy and Eddie up forward we are a step closer to being a Premiership team.

Problem is that we need all hands on deck and to be operating at full strength to be a threat this year.....lets hope the footy gods smile on us and gives us a good run with the medicos.....anything is possible.

What will be written us about tomorrow?

Flat track bullies? Haven't beaten anyone good? Judd got us over the line? All of the above?

Gibbs' comment was rather amusing. How lackluster was the team song at the end???!

This "bogey" side obviously is just a minor obstacle for us now.

The seriousness is a good sign.

It was pretty clear to me that the umps were out to make the point that Juddy is no maggot's pet. Some ridiculous decisions - 15 free kicks paid in the first 10 minutes of the game.

All in all it was a horrible match but a fantastic win. At half time I would have taken a one point win very happily. Roos were absolutely desperate not to lose this.

Some fantastic bits of play - Duigan's suicide mark in the last quarter, Garlett chasing down Harvey in the second and Robbo with a bone crunching shepherd on Wells on the boundary line.

Henderson was fantastic too. I'd be very happy to see him stay at CHB when Jamo comes back. He looks far happier and freer in defence than he does in attack.

I'm obviously an easier mark than some of you guys because I was pretty impressed with the win. Straight kicking for goal in the second quarter would have seen a very dominant win. As it was, I actually thought we were pretty comfortable against a side well and truly fired up for the contest. A few things:

Were we on TBV or TC during the 2005 draft? Whichever it was, could some technical genius go back to the draft thread and figure out who the poster was who kept telling us to draft Swallow at the pick where we got Jake Edwards? Then Cazzesman can have a word with Wayne H about getting the bloke on our recruiting team.

Hendo - great game. A shame it took Bruce and the boys 3.5 quarters to work out he was owning Petrie.

Tuohy worked himself into the contest beautifully.

Kreuzer clunked enough marks to suggest confidence is returning.

All in all, I'm very happy and think we're placing ourselves well for the key games against Freo and Hawthorn

But @#$% Me what a trick it is.  Pulls Ace/King for 21 everytime. Even pure silk isn't as silky as our Yazz. Stunning player.   I'll wear his few stuff ups for the rest he brings. The footy smarts to sum up the situation and unload that cm perfect torp to Brock was a gem.

Regards Cazzesman

Warnock's goal kicking action certainly has concussion, didn't realise it was contagious though

I was initially worried that Henda's little chip kicks that he often fluffed on the forward line would be a worry on the backline but I couldnt have got it more wrong. Mainly because on the backline he doesnt have to get it and turn as he runs back off the mark like on the forward line. No kicking off his heals on the backline he just hits it straight on and foot skills have been unbelievably good. Up there with Watsons i reckon. The pin point 55m passes coming out of the backline have been great to watch since his move back.

With Henda at CHB and Jamo at fullback we will be all set. I cant wait to see it in action.
