Was pretty funny watching the game at the club tonight.

About 15 rowdy blues fans, all went up as one roaring as duigan had his shot on the run in the last minute, which looked in for all money on the telly only to fall about 10m short into the arms of a roo.

was bloody hilarious the reaction at the time. spose you had to be there.

how gutsy were simmo and duigan going back with the flight.

scotland and gibbs were fantastic. Judd big effort second half and murph continued his solid form.

Mclean was good enough to keep his spot.

Houla - that was his swansong no doubt. Thanks for the memories houla. loved your chainsaw goal.

we will improve when we can replace davies, houla and ellard with more consistent senior performers.

badly lacking a key marking forward.

good solid win against a grinding honest side.

must smash melbourne next week

I should add that i'm happy for ellard to be in the team when his is on top of his game but he has faded a bit since his concussion. similar to curnow I spose.

Really hope brock can put 3 or 4 together to get back to afl pace and keep his place for the finals.
He could prove crucial if he can recapture some of his early carrer form.

yep

I hope not, Houla still has a lot to offer. 200 gamers are gold in finals.

Ellard was great tonight.
Also Houlihan is only 29.

Don't reckon he has much left but a great gesture to get him to 200....

If the match committee gave houlihan a farewell game this week in such a crucial game and he wasn't called up on merit, then we are still a joke off the field....collingwood didn't give Josh Fraser his 200th

Actually, I thought Davies played pretty well and may become one of the consistent senior performers you are looking for. IMO it's a bit rough looking to replace a kid who's just managed to break into the team through hard work in the Ants. Houla I can wear because he's at the end of his career and needs to be replaced, just as Scotland will need to be when his time comes. And others.
Ellard has had lots of chances and is obviously doing what Ratts wants him to do but is still on the learning curve. Let's not write some of the young kids off too early.

But @#$% Me what a trick it is.  Pulls Ace/King for 21 everytime. Even pure silk isn't as silky as our Yazz. Stunning player.   I'll wear his few stuff ups for the rest he brings. The footy smarts to sum up the situation and unload that cm perfect torp to Brock was a gem.

Should have won by a lot more but I will take that.

Im shattered for houla how can you play a bloke for 1 quarter in his 200th :screwy:

Scrappy game umps were terrible early just take the points and be done with that one.
Great signs down back cant wait to get some KPP back we are desperate im saying this we are winning games without
key players which is ehich is great for the future.

So Josh spat the dummy and went to the GC. Or was it that they knew he was going to leave so they did it out of spite?
If you are going to use Collingwood as your yardstick on how to treat players, you're way off the mark. Just look at how they treated Didak. Shaw. Maxwell.

Even if it were a gesture by the MC it doesn't matter. It would have been made under consideration of the opposition. He gets 200, we win. You should be pleased. It's done.

Just let it go.

Just caught the Gibbs grab re Houla.

If it is true and I suspect it might be.

Houla thank you and best wishes. I have many fond memories of your carreer at Carlton. Sorry you could not have had more success but you were in the trenches when it mattered and the club was experincing its darkest hour. Respect.

I was thinking that as well.....Collingwood isn't the greatest example.

They probably would have if there was a sub rule.

You are an angry man Blueboy_Dan. Relax and enjoy the win.

not writing these kids off at all, i'm actually a huge fan of ellard.

Davies I need a bot of convincing with, but he did pretty well tonight.

I'm just mindful that we cannot afford to carry anyone come finals time.
It's not a bad policy rotating some guys through the ones, to rest some bodies and to get some depth players up to speed.

we sure have a solid draw heading home now. need some foot soldiers to see us through.

Just consider these players up and running in this team :- Russell for Davies, Waite for Houla, Carrazzo for the worst of Ellard/Curnow/Mclean.

if we can slot those three above in we will be very close to our best 22 for finals (hampson and warnock can toss a coin).

Jesus I forgot Jamo

Just heard about Yaz's resurrected career again

Bank this win and move on.
