I've been keeping a little tracker on how I think these two are going for the race to the Brownlow Medal this year. Here's where I think it's at so far. I've watched 100% of the Carlton games, 14 of them at the ground so I noted these basically after every game in my iPhone.

The leaderboard understandably counts high, which is likely to be incorrect as votes will be pinched. But it's just a guage of where I see the votes landing if Carlton players are chosen in each game (unless of course, we shouldn't get any). I wonder if anyone thinks similarly that Murphy is ahead or at least on-par with Judd if the umpires see things like the rest of us.

Judd v Murphy Leaderboard after 19 Rounds:

M. Murphy - 24-28
C. Judd - 23-26
B. Gibbs - 10
------

R1 v Rich - WIN 20 points
M. Murphy - 3 votes (31 touches, 1 goal, 7 tackles)
C. Judd - 2 votes (26 touches, 6 tackles, 1 goal)
J. Reiwoldt - 1 vote (6 goals)

R2 v Gold Coast - WIN 119 points
M. Murphy - 3 votes (36 disp, 1 goal)
B. Gibbs - 2 votes (36 disposals, 15 marks)
C. Judd - 1 vote (29 disposals, 8 tackles, 2 goals)

Dad and I have been saying Murphy is a massive chance for a little while now.

Judd's best has been better, but I think Murphy shades him in consistentcy. Just.

I have also been keeping track ... of Judd ... not Murphy ... I reckon Judd has 24 votes.

I reckon Judd will get 3 votes for the first 3 for each of the first 3 games.

The Richmond game because he got us over the line and the umps really like him.
The Goldie game because it was impossible to pick our best players so they will play it safe.
3 for the collingwood game because he was the best player on the ground. Swan had a very quiet 34 touches. Barely noticed. Plus the umps would be keen to prove their point again. Shaw may pinch a vote off him but i doubt it.

I think the next 5 rounds will decide whether its murph or Judd. I think the AFL like Chris Judd being up on stage on the big night.

Brownlow always throws up a surprise - Like last year - Swan already had it packed in his bag and I dont think anyone was considering Judd as a realistic chance

Players to watch

Mitchell
Cox
Ablett
Pendlebury
Thomas - he is not consistent but when he plays a blinder he surely will attract votes
Goodes
Black - has been good all year

Here is a pretty handy guide for each from a Phantom Brownlow website.

Chris Judd - http://www.phantombrownlowmedal.com.au/ ... chris-judd
Marc Murphy - http://www.phantombrownlowmedal.com.au/ ... arc-murphy

Judd between 20-29 votes and Murphy between 17-29 votes, so will be very even. Murphy may have polled in more games than Judd, but Judd has had more standout games, that will be the difference o reckon.

I have Pendlebury on 21, Judd 20 and Murphy 18.

Is Carrazzo eligible?

I think it will be Judd, Murph or Pendlebury. Pendlebury's worst game was the first game against us. Apart from that he's been outstanding every game. He's probably got a wider range of players who will take votes off him, put I think he could poll in a LOT of games.

If Goodes even gets anywhere near it, it will prove that his myth supercedes the reality. He's been woefully inconsistent, and turns it on and off over weeks, and even through matches. Becoming one of the laziest "playing-like-a-millionaire" players around.

I can see it now, Juddy and Murphy both standing up there brownlow night joint winners and Juddy hangs the medal around Murphy's neck. Don't know who presents the medal to Juddy but....

Would be magic if Channel Nine got the rights to broadcast it and Eddie was hosting and had to make the toast. He would choke on his Moet.
