Exactly, if we win every game we will finish top 4. Forget about WCE, if we win every game we will finish above Hawthorn.

We won't.

Remember, they have a game on us, and we have that !@#$%& draw from earlier in the year. We have to count on Hawks losing one before then. The game against Freo this week is the biggest chance of that happening.

We win all our games, and either Freo or the Dogs win this week, we're top 4

GO FREO!!!!

GO DOGGIES!!!!!!

Geez....came out of Harry Potter....Nd heard they friggin' lost by 1 Point!!!! what the hec happened???

Way too much maths in this thread now.

I like Don's post where we can't finish lower than 6th. :thanks:

My mistake, just looked at the fixture, i thought they still had a bye to come.

But one thing I can categorically say is this. If we can win our remaining games, whether we make the 4 or not, we'll have proven beyond a doubt that we belong in the top-tier and will go in full of confidence, ready to @#$%&! some shit up.

Will Carlton win 6 in a row- not likely cant remember the last time
Will West coast win 7 in a row - havent done so since 2005 you would expect them to drop one
Will Hawks win 8 in a row - might do the only losses they have had since round 1 is to collingwood and geelong but last time they played Freo in the west they got pumped

Our inability to string large blocks of wins together will mean we finish 5th

What a lot of people are overlooking is that things like this rarely go to plan. It's extremely unlikely that it will simply be a case of both Carlton and West Coast winning all of their remaining games and hence West Coast finishing 4th, two points ahead of Carlton. These things are never as straightforward as people think - there will be twists and turns along the way, it's just the nature of sport.

While it would be far from ideal, I wouldn't be panicking about a potential semi-final against West Coast in WA. They beat us last time (deservedly so) but I firmly believe that, at full-strength, we're a better team than they are and would beat them more times than not.

I would rather play WC at Subiaco than at Etihad.

No Morris, No Cooney, can't see West Coast losing this weekend. They have an easy run home against all bottom 8 sides. Top 4 for sure and they will have done this by knocking us and the Cats off... Well deserved.

Our biggest chance is to knock off the Hawks. They have Freo away and North, same as us. We have to do better against these teams than they do, then knock them off Round 22 and its looking good.

We have Saints, they have Dogs, we have Dees, they have Port and GC. Saints will be tougher for us but we'll be fresh and if we knock off the Hawks and need to beat Saints last round to finish 4th, we will!! All of these games should be wins.

Not entirely in our hands, but go Freo this weekend!! Then hopefully bring on the Pies 1st week of finals...

I think we will finish 5th however WCE will finish third and Hawthorn 4th. If we finish as low as 6th we will possibly get St Kilda two weeks running.

I just hope in the first round of the finals we have our best team ready to go.

Anyone facing us with our best team will be worried.

Whoever gets us first in Melbourne will be in for a tough day.

Hammer
Jammo
Waite
Bower

Will need to be up and running by then..

And hopefully we haven't burnt Judd out!

Top 6 with a late bye has never been measured.

We will load up on training in the weeks around the bye and hit the finals full steam ahead. Saints and Hawks will be doing the same thing so those games will still be good.

Id rather finish 5th or 6th hit the finals after heavy training loads and some smart tapering than busting a gut to finish top 4 and be mentally and physically stuffed.

Cooney and Cross expected to miss against the Eagles this weekend and there is also doubt over Higgins, Morris and Gilbee who also sustained injuries last weekend.
The footy gods ain't giving us much help.

How close are we to putting our best side on to the field? Jamison and Waite for sure. Hampson only maybe the way Warnock is playing. Bower is always injured so can't say he is in the best 22 at the moment.
Ellard and Curnow are both down on form but who do you bring in? Russell for one of them although he needs to regain some form. And is there anyone else. McLean maybe.

SO the three we currently miss are Jamison, Waite, and Russell, a more than handy trio who could really make the difference in September.

Just listened to Rocket Eade talking to Brad and Karl on 6PR.

I wouldn't be putting any faith in the Dog's helping us out. Basically everyone who needs a rest is getting one, everyone who need's medical attention won't be playing.

You'll be happy to know that he finished the interview by say "we try to win every game we play and we certainly haven't put the cue in the rack "

Bugger.

with your coaching career on the line, you would be not wanting to put the cue in the rack...

WCE/Freo are always flat after their derby's, so fingers crossed.
