We lost this one last year and our hopes for a Top 4 dived along with it. Kruze back will help, but otherwise our team looked better on paper last year than what's available now. Hopefully sit Robbo on the Oompah and niggle the living shit out of him. Hopefully we can handle Petrie the same way we handled Jonathan Brown. Their height is the one bog worry I think.

Really think last years team looked better than this years? I think you're forgetting the improvement of players from last year like Mitch Robinson, Marc Murphy, Chris Yarran, etc. We are a better side than last year no doubt even if we are missing Waite + Jamo

Judd was talking about possibly missing a game when his baby was born.

Just wondering if this is still the case?
You never know, having a baby is a major event. Wouldn't blame him for having a week off.

I WOULD!!!!

I'm very worried about there tall marking options every time it went in the forward line against the bummers they scored
it was scary stuff. If we dont smash them out of the guts we are in trouble i believe.

That little runt, Harvey always has his best game for the year against us.
That new kid of theirs with the soccer background is going to be a player. 200+, fast, agile. What we want Hampson to be.
Setanta go a couple last week and would have to be better for the run. Like him or hate him, he IS tall and hits the packs hard.

If we lose this......

Not many of them goals were scored by or involved tall marking options.

Being outmarked in general is a worry and we look a terrible when this was happening at the end of the 2nd quarter against the dons and
has been a trend in all our poor games this year. There were not height mismatches last friday night and it still occcured. Ratts and co are aware of this and working with the team to get on top of it.
The amount of times we kick to contests, the way we kick to those contests and the way we approach all marking contests are things are all areas we can improve on. Worth noting that we took 24 marks in the first half against the dons and 57 in the second.

Bombers kicked a few goals out of their arses and got a couple more from the umps in the first half of Friday night though. the game was closer than it should have been.

I had thought Judd would only miss if Bec was in labour on the actual day of the game.

If we cannot beat Norf then we're just not good enough.

Because the boys decided to lead into space to create an uncontested possession, rather than standing around waiting for the ball to come to them which has been a terrible habit the boys can get into. We look at our best when players without the ball are moving, leading and shepherding for the ball carrier and when our basic skills of running, kicking and marking are occurring without monumental fluff ups.

- Kreuzer is OK and will play this week

I hope everybody gets the irony in that sentence. I laughed.

Hurley took a few grabs.

Scored 3. One a rovers goal.

Anyway, what i am getting at is that Hurley had an opponent in Henderson who is 5cm taller than him.
There was no height mismatches that cost us goals even though the Bombers were efficient in scoring once inside their 50 in the first half.

With another 3 brownlow votes up for grabs there's no way Judd will miss this one. He is in scintilating form.

Ratts saying North hand picked their one and only friday night game to play carlton

He thinks they did this because we are considered easy beats to them having beaten us 16 of the last 20 time we played them and the last time we beat them we only won by 10 points and North kicked 9 points in the last quarter

Carrotts - touch and go
Waite - 1-2 weeks
Jamo 2-3 weeks
Kruez easy week but ok

I don't think North have the players to stop our small/medium forwards and I don't think we have anyone to stop Petrie. Henderson is the likely match up but will need plenty of help.

Hansen is likely to play down back but Pederson and Edwards are the others that could cause a few problems. I would play Thornton on Pederson and Laidler on Edwards. Yaz on Campbell and no doubt they will bring in Thomas because of his record against us. Give the job to Duigen. Goldstein spends most of his time in the ruck and doesn't spend too long up forward. When he does, he almost always kicks a goal or two.

Firrito (did he get off?) might go to Walker, Thompson on Kreuzer and Hansen on a 2nd tall (if we bring one in). I reckon McMahon will get Garlett and Tarrant or his replacement will get Betts.

Wells is a big danger, he is in great form and we need to make sure Harvey doesn't have a day out. I think Carrazzo has to come in for one of these players. They have a few star midfielders but then it drops away. If Warnock can break even with Goldstein and we play team defense against Petrie we are a good showing.

Carlton by 3 goals.
