Its a military analogy - (think when the lyrics were written between the 2 World Wars) -

With all the champions they like to send up (young soldiers the cream of Australian youth being sent up to the front)

We'll keep our end up (our boys will do their bit at the front and hold their end up).

They will know that they've been playing against the famous old dark blues (the enemy will know that they have been in a fight with the cream of Australian Manhood at the front of battle).

Agro, if what you say is true then it gets my vote.

Can the Blueseum confirm?

How about "Do the Carlton dance"?

We could even reunite the cast of Fresh Prince of Bel Air to put the TV ad together

Has to "Be Navy" or even 'We are Blue"

"true Blue" is too much David Williamson for me

Our colour is our identity.

I didn't know that David Williamson wrote a play called "True Blue"

But I'm pretty sure John Williamson sang a song called "Old Man Emu".

I would go with:

"With all the champions" - but the reference to champions being to supporters and members.

Perhaps a very large photo of our rank and file members but with a sprinkling of our past legends and champions with this group photo Coulthard, McGregor, Clover, Vallance, Deacon, Nicholls, Silvagni's, Jesaulenko, Doull, Kernahan, Williams, Koutoufides, Judd - sort of like the cover of Sgt Peppers Album.

Allow me to be the first to say that a permanent slogan is a crap idea.

Not many clubs can pull this off, only one I can think of is Liverpool,

Side by Side is simply awful. As are the people that wear cheap hoodies with this across the front.
