We all know that we have a tough run home, but worse still, with both West Coast and Hawks having 2 games on us and us not playing the Eagles again, it is conceivable that we could win all our remaining games and still miss out on the top 4. This in fact has been the case even before the start of this round. Both clubs seem to me to have winnable games all the way home. If the Hawks don't drop another game (other than against us) and they will be half a game ahead, Eagles win all their games and they likewise end up half a game ahead. Given we have over 12% on the Eagles, drawing with Essendon* first time could be the killer. Mind you. odds are we'll drop a couple of games, so might they, but I think we are up against it now.

Until each team plays each other the same number of times, the AFL, as a fair dinkum competition, cannot be taken seriously.

West Coast have peaked. Everyone is saying that they will win all there remaining but that will not be the case. You don't go from last to top 4 in one season.

I don't see West Coast winning either of their two remaining games in Melbourne and are likely to drop one or two over there.

Which one of Richmond, Essendon* or Adelaide will beat the eagles at Subiaco??

About 30 years ago; Tom Hafey took Collingwood from wooden spooners to the Grand Final in his first year there....true.

That was 34 years ago. We now play in the AFL not the VFL.

So a '''V'' is changed to an ''A''; but apart from that; the difference is..........?

30 years ago there was no draft, no salary cap, no total player payments and no list restrictions.

The difference is Collingwood didnt have travel interstate to play half there matches. Fatigue is now setting in for West Coast.

A poster declared that a team can't make top 4 after a wooden spoon, and I stupidly mentioned that a team in fact had made the GF in the year following a spoon.....which is true.

I thought the poster may've been interested to know that fact......silly me!

Now......there's people arguing the toss about how things were different then.....so what?

I give up.........

The reason we will lose our place in the Top 4 is probably due to our recent defeat to the Western Bulldogs...just should never have happened.

Will be seen as our biggest stuff up of the season...

I've stopped posting in Political threads because of incessant arguing; and I think it's looking like I'll shortly give this site away completely because it's all become all too much like a kindergarten.

One thing that hasn't changed is Collingwood still don't have to worry about interstate travel.
