Robbo pantsed him in this round last year, and should be told to do it again. Not sure why he wasn't given the job in round 3.

I think Robbo's moved beyond a defensive forward role in the team now.

Fletcher is a worry. Setanta would be useless on him because Fletcher will zone off Setanta every time he isn't running to a dangerous spot. If we are going to play a pure/non-defensive forward on him with the intention of 'keeping him honest' they need to be very smart about where they run. If they are running to simply keep Fletcher out of the play he won't have a bar of it and just ignore them. Do we have a forward smart enough to make Fletcher respect his positioning? I'm not sure. None spring to mind.

The good thing about giving the job to Robbo is that he will also kick a couple himself, while clamping down on their most creative backman. Robbo is the man.

Lets face a few facts

First 11 games we got ahead of ourselves.

We are still 2-3 years away. Young KPP are still are in seconds and have played very little football due to injury.
I am talking about the 3Ms.

We have been hit by injury to our 2 most important players Waite and Jamo.

However, IMHO Ratten has coached poorly or is poorly advised by the assistant coaches on use of Henderson (FCOL Henderson is a forward), we should rotate Thornton, Watson, Laidler and Bower on 2 kpp and use Duigan as a cut off player.
Watson must be played, can not learn anything in the seconds, needs to be treated like Flectcher, play him, play him, play him.

This is what we should be selecting this week

Carlton

B: Jeremy Laidler, Bret Thornton, Christopher Yarran

HB: Paul Bower, Matthew Watson, Nick Duigan

C: Kade Simpson, Bryce Gibbs, Heath Scotland

HF: Jeffrey Garlett, Lachlan Henderson, Mitch Robinson

F: Setanta O'hAilpin, Andrew Walker, Eddie Betts

Foll: Robert Warnock, Chris Judd, Marc Murphy

I/C: David Ellard, Edward Curnow, Matthew Kreuzer, Kane Lucas.

When fit Thornton and Sentanta out, Waite and Jamo in.

It is just so important to play Yarran, Bower, Watson, Robinson, Lucas, Kruezer together as much as possible as this is the future. When possible we need to make sure that Scotland is rested to give game time to younger players.

I don't see any facts here.
All I see is your opinion.

I'd go with Bower and Hendo as KPDs this week and either Thornton OR Setanta, whoever trained best this week, up forward.

Bower injured again.

Will he actually play another game this season?

VFL watchers has Davies been any good? He hasn't played AFL since the Sydney elimination final.

Bower is 1-2 weeks away.

Well, I'd imagine.

Good to see the two cousins, Robinson and Davies, in the same side.

No Watson or Hocking, pretty sure most of their losing trot had BOTH these out. :smoking:

Per Ants reports, Davies was very good last Ants game, not surprised he's in. Looks like they're happy for Laidler to play tall and maybe a wet night is behind that thinking, too.
