So much for that new super dooper machine provided by SoC accelarating Jamo and Hammer's recovery and helping them get back earlier then expected...

Again no Carrots, JR, White, or Setants, and of course still no Waite, Hammer and Jamo....
Seems like we re going to have to go into this weeks game undermanned again.... But of course, there will be no mention of our senior absentees come Sunday morning should the Scum win.

Not sure how we are going to win this to be honest.

They always look like they are at the races when we play them.

We are really undermanned and dont have much to bring in this week.

Not sure if anyone noticed but in the online auction for the match worn Jumper from Saturday, the 3 players who did not play but had a special guernsey made up were Setanta, Armfield and McCarthy.

Does that mean he was/is close to getting a game for the seniors???

Interesting......

First 11 games we got ahead of ourselves.

We are still 2-3 years away. Young KPP are still are in seconds and have played very little football due to injury.
I am talking about the 3Ms.

We have been hit by injury to our 2 most important players Waite and Jamo.

However, IMHO Ratten has coached poorly or is poorly advised by the assistant coaches on use of Henderson (FCOL Henderson is a forward), we should rotate Thornton, Watson, Laidler and Bower on 2 kpp and use Duigan as a cut off player.
Watson must be played, can not learn anything in the seconds, needs to be treated like Flectcher, play him, play him, play him.

This is what we should be selecting this week

Carlton

B: Jeremy Laidler, Bret Thornton, Christopher Yarran

HB: Paul Bower, Matthew Watson, Nick Duigan

C: Kade Simpson, Bryce Gibbs, Heath Scotland

HF: Jeffrey Garlett, Lachlan Henderson, Mitch Robinson

F: Setanta O'hAilpin, Andrew Walker, Eddie Betts

Foll: Robert Warnock, Chris Judd, Marc Murphy

I/C: David Ellard, Edward Curnow, Matthew Kreuzer, Kane Lucas.

When fit Thornton and Sentanta out, Waite and Jamo in.

It is just so important to play Yarran, Bower, Watson, Robinson, Lucas, Kruezer together as much as possible as this is the future. When possible we need to make sure that Scotland is rested to give game time to younger players.

Agree that we need to keep playing Watson even though he made some bad judgements last weekend, but don't agree that Henderson has been a bad move in the backline. Henderson did get beat by Cloke but at the end of the day Cloke only kicked 3 goals and no one in the competition can stop that man at the moment.

Setanta has to come in for height in the forward line until Waite returns but I thought we looked most dangerous against Collingwood when Kruezer was CHF.

Its easy to just say "play all these blokes and that's it" but you have to consider form in the Bullants and promote where they have earned it.

..and you have to consider team balance. That team has too many talls. One extra on the backline when not required and one extra on the forward line.

Ratts said Carlos back either in AFL or Ants, but noted he plays well "fresh" (bit of racing vernacular from racing nut Ratts), so he's right in the frame it appears.

He was very valuable v Swans @ SCG after misssing 3 or 4 weeks, think the MC will be mindful of this.

I can't get past the feeling that if we are going to do anything significant this season, we need to win this and next week's games.

The group needs to make a statement that they are legitimate contenders, and these two games can right the ship as we start to get players back. If we're a true contender then the squad we have in should be enough against these to. Attitude and execution will win the day (or night  )

Don't be silly Punter, what do you think we are capable of doing this year ...."we" are happy to finish 5th and win a final, if we can. Haven't you heard we aren't that good!

Ha!

Well put me in the camp who believes we're capable of knocking off anyone at the G on our day. Apologies to anyone who thinks that's an absurdly optimistic appraisal, but that's what I believe. I've been away the last few weeks o/s and only just got back in time for the Collingwood game so it looks like I've missed a fair bit of negativity around here.

If we bring that effort and intent tomorrow night we should win. Any drop off at all from those levels and Essendon* will beat us handily.

Dont understand the pessimism around here

People are scared about Hurley, Zaharakis, Monfries etc.....(these are some of the names that have been mentioned)..If that is the best they can throw at us then surely nothing less than a 10 goal win will be tolerated.

Our forward line of Betts, AW and Garlett will score more than enough..People do realise that the 3 of them have close to 100 goals for the season combined??.Add in goals from Murphy, Simpson, Gibbs, Judd and Robbo and we are more than fine going forward...

I for 1 am going in very confident against this mob..Normally thats not the case against Essendon*, but I expect a similar rout to last years game..
