Forward is the only position for Watson at the moment.

I actually like the ins and even more so the outs.........the two softest blokes 'out' and a couple of hard nuts coming in.

I dont mind the inclusion of Watson but not for Cloke - it's not the time to crucify the kid. Get him the right match up down back and there's one obvious one so let the kid play on the two gamer.

We need to go with our forward set up as we know it, minus Waite but roll the likes of Judd and Gibbs through there more often.

And for gods sake, learn something from a few weeks ago when Thomas lost his temper and hit a bloke which = a suspension........the guy couldn't take a very very hard tag in the under 18's and doesn't like the very hard tag now either it's just that teams don't do it often enough and when they do he loses his cool.

For mine, Robbo wears him like a glove and like Mickster said, there are no rules when you play Collingwood. There never has been and nor should there be. Same goes for Pendlebury - couldn't handle the extreme hard tag in the under 18's and won't be able to do so now..........tag them both to oblivion and whatever it takes, they don't leave that ground smiling.

We haven't beaten a side above us since early MAY 2010, so this is it. We're expected to roll over for this sarcastic mob who the AFL compromise the draw so much for, it is an utter joke.

It will get ugly in the crowd because for a long time now they have dominated us and whilst we're not quite there yet, those smug supporters of their's don't like to be challenged so unlike the past few years where they knew we were their 'bitch' and just laughed us off, this time round, you will see the true ugly side of the pie supporters....even if we don't win, because they now know we are no longer a push over.

This rivalry will really hot up to a new level in the next few years and it starts this weekend. I was just explaining to my kids that we probably haven't seen this since sort of tension in a crowd for quite some years. To guys like Mickster, he will know what I'm referring to. To all you babies, strap yourself in and enjoy the ride. There's nothing else like it but above all, lets not be scared of them - after all, they bleed like anyone else.

Folks, i think we need to realise that we are well and truly screwed!
The ins this week only remind me of the numerous gaps we still have on our list and in the 22 named week in, week out.

Perhaps not quite roo'esque, but we will get pulverised this saturday

I am not surpised by the Russell out though. I said to a mate at the game on sunday that Jordan has probably been the biggest victim of the inclusions of Duigan & Laidler to our backline. This has resulted in Jordan being surplus to needs back there and required to move upfield. I think he has found it hard to adjust and his output has suffered as a result.

I just think that without knowing what his role is every week has taken its toll on his confidence and he is playing like a bloke without confidence. Which is a shame because we still need more depth in the midfield and i initially thought he could play a role there but he has been disappointing i must say

Watson for Keefe.
Bower for Cloke
Thornton for Brown (this one is crucial).
Henderson forward. :smoking:
Perfect time for big bodied Twomey. Time to show why he was recruited, now lets see if he has what it takes.
My tip is for Ellard to run with Daisy (he'll shit himself), Gibbs to Pendles, Judd with Swann (make him accountable  ), Joseph to take Blair, Duigen/Laidler/Yarran to help as needed 3rd man up and run, Curnow head to head with Saints man  , Robinson to clear way and take captain courageous...Walker to take O'brien, and make sure Betts or Gartlett defend as needed Heath Shaw but hurt him the other way. We can win this with Murphy, Scotland & Simpson to run amok! Kruezer & Hendo ... time has come.

I'm really looking foward to see how much this group has grown and how far we will go in 2011.
Make no mistake people, this game is more than just 4 points, its season defining

I hope they don't play Watson down back. The kid could get chewed up and spat out, not what he needs at this early stage of what should be a long career at Carlton.

Anyone want a single reserved seat? $20. Not sure exactly where it is, but is in a Carlton members reserved seating area. Received from the club and had already bought my tickets. PM me.

C'mon Blueboys, smash these pricks!

Yep it will be a miracle if we win. Next to no chance of that happening.

Mind you it won't stop this site from going into it's usual meltdown after another loss.

Doesn't matter if Walker is assigned to him, Harry O will be making a beeline for Eddie & rendering him useless once again (unless Eddie has finally learned how to shake a tag in a week). Might be smart to start Eddie on the bench for this very reason to be honest & bring him on as a burst player.

Predictable.

Shows that form means nothing to the MC.

All the best to Twomey for his first game. Hope he rips the Pies a new one. Run hard and straight.

Yep - that's the upside of his inclusion: a solid, mature body on a very big stage.....it's worked for Duigan so far. We can only hope Wayde does the same. Win, lose or draw, he's gonna remember that day for the rest of his life.

I thought about that. If he does, tell eddie to go and sit in pocket, closest to the behind post as possible, and tell him a story about his life. Make sure however that he kills Henrietta's run and stays with him/doesn't let him run off & create. This is where he has hurt us before. Betts has done this before, he just needs to sacrifice his game and stop leading and therefore taking fat ass into play.

We must remember that all our boys, walker/Gartlett & betts have done this job all year, defended when they needed too and hurt the opposition the other way. Collingwood aren't any different to the Sydney defence, just different names - same crap!

Fair call, but the problem most other teams have is that the Pies get the ball so often inside an opposition forward line, that the likes of Harry O will run off their opponent in any case, driving them forward yet again.....this is where Eddie has to suck in the big ones and be with Harry every step of the way, although Eddie almost purely as a defensive forward doesn't sit well with me.

Yeah you make a fair point about Russell but isn't he injured (Soreness)? Only Hoops was dropped?

Even if we can't win it, we still need to believe that an upset is on the cards against the Pies and the Blues love playing at the MCG
