Sheesh. Watto and Wayde   Didn't see that coming.

And what about Thouy ? Is he injured ? Surely he comes in if not :?:

Hope that Curnow is right to go, but posters were saying that he was blowing after the first q of the Ants :|

This would have to be our C team. Will be our best win since the 99 Prelim if we can pull it off.

Yeah...Twomey...Touhy..both have the word TWo in them..probably the MC just got a bit confused.

Well, if it is a 'C' team..let's hope they turn it onto a 'See what we can do!!' team.

All the best to Wayde Twomey...go for it son!!!

I agree with the big 'T'. 'cept i think it is the heart as well the head. Emotion plus will.
Gibbs thinks we can..hope his mind frame is catchy as all get out.
Why not.
Where there is life..there is hope.

We have a core of grat players all gonna be on the park..and with nothing to lose.

On such a winters day..............(on a winters day.)

Nice sentiments BG. But sooo hard to see us winning it. It seems like ages ago now that we played nearly our best quarter of footy for years against the Swans. Everything was rosy, Big K was back as if he'd never been out, Robbo was running amok, the backline was so settled and working beautifully, and we didn't give them a second when they had the ball - the Press was a thing of beauty. And we were $7.50 for the flag

We're a shadow of that side now, but yeah, where there's a heartbeat there's hope.

We will go nowhere until we get a decent CHF.Im happy if they give Watson a go there.I dont care if it doesnt work.No guts,no glory.Better to step forward and go A over T than stand petrified like a rabbit in the spotlight waiting to get mown down.......................and good luck to Wade Twomey.Contrary to popular belief i think he has played well for the Ants. Not starred, but played solid proficient footy. And to the oldtimers, his physical appearance and looks is strikingly similar to Bryan Quirk (32).Same looks, build, even his running style. Its freakish.Get off his case,he has earnt his spot, and go out and brain 'em.
We are are a big show to win this game.Check our history of upset wins against the Pies.Once again,no guts,no glory.Get out there boys and kick there effin heads in.When it comes to the Pies, there are no rules.
Regards Mick.

Well I certainly think we can win.

I like to look at the bench that each side has. Our bench has a much better look than theirs.

I actually think the first ten minutes of the game will tell the story. We need an early goal or two to give us some confidence. If we get that connfidence the Pies will need to work pretty hard to shake us. If they get off to a good start well..... trouble.

Eddy and Jeffy need to get into this match for us bigtime. I really cant see any tall we send forward dominating.

I think our backs will hold there own though. I want Hendo on Cloke because I think Hendo can break even at least.

Judd and Murph to fire up and we'll be right in it.

All you guys going to the game, scream like made for our boys as they will need it. For the rest of us who can't go we'll just scream at the TV.

Blues by 3 pts.

Ah Bryan Quirk. What a player. Can still see him dobbing one on the run from 65 yards to the Lygon Street end

If we start with Judd, Gibbs, Murphy and Kreuzer on the bench we should win comfortably

also don't get why Thouy isn't playing especially with russell out. He shouldn't have been dropped in the first place.

hopefully bower is the sub were he can't get into trouble for half a game.

Maybe Bower is going to play in Russell's role this week, more as a running rebounding defender rather than as a key position defender.

AJ to tag Blair and Watson to play down backon Keeffe. Probably use Watson's left foot to thump the ball forward on the rebound to let our forwards use their pace to spread the Pies defence and score against them. Curnow Robinson to help Judd and Murphy in the clearance battle and provide rotations. Jeff and Eddie may not be able to outmark Shaw or OBrien but doubling back towards goal they should be too fast for them and that would create problems for the Pies. Twomey has shown in the Bullants that he can kick goals and also fight to keep the ball in the forward lineor play a role down back. With Eddie Jeff Walker Twomey Murphy Judd Robinson Curnow Simpson Scotland Yarran Gibbs we can have a lot of avenues to goal. Same tactics that Essendon* used against the Pies. It will all depend upon the execution. Our weakest team against their best. What a chance for this side to etch their name in the history books of great Carlton wins. Go Blues!!!!

I can see watson being the sub. Ratts was talking up having a tall sub last week. Not sure he will have the fitness for a whole game and the extra tall wont cost us too much if he is a sub.

I reckon in a round about way the MC have decided that top 4 is a long shot and that long term plans are in place.

Touhy sent back to work on a few things. Comes back into the side later in the season for a fresh run into the finals. Makes sense if they are going down the "big picture" road.

Watson and thomey come in in a game we probably wont win so if required later in the season or a final they wont be overawed .

They have picked a team that is capable of following instuctions and with that shouldnt get blown away. No chance of winning though i wouldnt think.

The MC could be looking at the rest of the season as one big game. A balancing act with the aim of getting 12 more points and having a super fit and fresh team ready for the finals.

Tuohy out
twomey in
No Austin put your self in the draft now son
I reckon you are a better bet than Thornton
seriously has the MC found some high grade horse down Lygon St
given some of these selections

Interesting Houlihan got dropped
Even I would have selected him because we will get creamed anyway then put the pencil through him
At least more empathy for hoops than Fisher{lets hope his offspring are shit footballers :wink: }
Twomey over Tuohy
My god we have gone coo coo
And Watson
reckon he will be ok
but Austin is ahead of him
The MC are oficially [REDACTED] in the head

We have to have a look at Twomey at some time. Being 25, he has to have a crack at seniors so we can see what he has got. No point spending all year in the VFL and then being delisted. Twomey has a massive opportunity and the question is......will he grab it with both hand and finish the season in the seniors?

All the best Twomey.

I hope the match committee don't lose sleep over Keogh's opinion

The Pies are definitely beatable especially with Didak, Dawes and Beams missing.
We just need to play to our potential, put them under pressure and hope they have an off day. All it takes is for a key player eg)Cloke/Pendlebury/Thomas/Jolly/Swan to get injured early in the match and they could struggle.
I wouldn't give us up yet.
