I LOVE MATTHEW KREUZER!

That is COMMITTMENT.

Love this guy even more. My son wants 5 on his jumper, I may accidentally add 3 numbers to that.

This is what footy is about. Passion.

Lets see if Scully can follow his lead.

Gotta Love Krooooooooze for staying.

Poor Robbo didn't realise he was paying a compliment about Carlton he couldnt resist throwing a tanking remark at the end there:

Quote:
It's understood his love for the club not only stems from being the No.1 pick - which the Blues gained after a series of interesting results, the most notable being the ''Kruezer Cup'' against Melbourne

Yeah cause Carlton is the only club to have had a priority pick so they must have tanked to get him.

The young bloke's just gone up even higher in my estimation if that's possible. Great footballer, great person.

I wouldn't have blamed him for taking it. he knows he is just one step away from never playing again and a few million would go a long way to securing his future.

He also knows he is on the cusp of achieving success at Carlton and winning premierships seems a long way away at GWS. I think that will help a lot with retaining our list. Yes, it is a job and they want the money but they want to play footy and they want success. the best 22 will probably get both. The fringe payers have to work harder to get it or be traded.

I hope his decision turns out to be a good ne for him, because if it is, it will have been a good one for the rest of the team and the supporters as well.

Stephen Icke was radio this morning and asked about this offer. He made the comment that as Kreuzer is contracted until 2012 it seemed a bit strange that a club would offer him a contract 2 years before his current contract expired. He said that GWS could only have offered him a contract in the window last year and was surprised that the AFL have said that clubs can talk to players directly as that was not his understanding. but then again the AFL just make it up as they go.

That's great that Matthew knocked back the offer to stay...although predicable. But many players knock back offers. Ryan Houlihan knocked back an offer from Melbourne at the end of '03. The club was going nowhere at the time. That deserves praise as well. Not sure he'll get it from the contradictory souls on this forum though.
