Turned to my mate at three qtr time and said, surely Henderson will be moved forward and Bower onto Hall. That was echoed by many discussions around us at the time.

The most baffling non move of the year...

Yes he could have moved Hendo forward, but if the plan is to see if Hendo can take a tall defensive post then he has to play there regardless of the result.

Useful thought. And perhaps they just want to settle and cement Hendo's spot in the team for the moment, after the early season stuff up. Rather than taking the risk of shifting him around from week to week and quarter to quarter. I hope they do the same with Bower in the next few weeks, if they still see him as part of their best team.

Sounds sensible to me. Moving him forward would surely be bad coaching by all involved. I am baffled people think that would have been a smart move.

To be able to go deep into finals we need to finish top4.
Ratten & comp. must be really confident we will finish top4 if they can afford to throw a game.

I thought Hendo kicked 25 goals playing forward last year

Do you think moving henda forward would have won us the game? Thornton has shown more as a forward this year and Henda has shown more on key forwards that Thornton has in defense.

I also think we can go deep into finals from 5 or 6. Dogs did last year. We have the late bye too. We just need to load up on training for the last 3 rounds of the year and hit the finals fresh and in peak fitness.

Playing Bower forward was bad coaching by all involved.

Surely moving a forward, forward for one qtr to try and salvage a game was worth trying. Whether it worked or not is not even worth discussing because all we have is hypothetical scenarios.

We had nothing to lose at 3 qtr time.

From where I was sitting, we where screaming for someone to stand up and take a mark up forward. Our midfielders didn't want to deliver the ball in or had no confidence in going in quickly and long due to the fact that no-one was standing up and demanding the ball. They over used the pill and tried to run it in which in the end cost us dearly. Henderson might not have won us the game but he would have given us an option and hopefully given the ball carriers some confidence to attack more direct. This, as we know, also bring's the crummers in the game. Kruezer & Warnock where just not demanding and more importantly looking like taking a mark. Henderson is our only option next to Waite who can lead like a forward, take a contested mark and give us something. Your usually pretty good with your thoughts club but not sure I agree here.

What do you want him to say?

Given the talk in the media about it this season, its a leading (dumb) question.

Just heard a whisper that Vossy and Laidler were spotted having a shandy with Swann & Icke last month at the Botanical.

Dream Team for 2012?
Pago Pago as director of coaching?

I wish I knew the magic formula to it all.

Jeffy, Eddie, Yazz all shizen this week, throw in Hoops (had 22 possies if you v=can believe it) and we never stood a chance. There was no steel in the weekends performance which shits me because I know it's there, we absolutely worked our rings off against the Swans and Saints.

I think Warnock definitely has a future but we should have structured up so that Kreuzer was a KPF and Sam and 206 shared rucking duties. Letting Jacobs go was a massive mistake. But we must move on and make sure that those who made those mistakes don't make them again.

If yesterday was a sign of our depth and game plan when challenged - we're only JUST a top 8 side.

Are you for real? A fit Hampson is far better than Sam. As proven this year. Unfortunately he is injured.

After watching Malthouse being interviewed on TFS, If I were Sticks and Swann, Id be getting the wheels firmly in motion to have him at Carlton next year (if they havent already). The guy virtually admitted that he regretted agreing to this Director of Coaching thingy, and that he's still dead passionate about coaching beyiond this year....

Collingwood supporters don't believe in Malthouse, they say Bucks is the brains behind the new setups and changes of Collingwood. Why would we want Malthouse?

And Buckley hasn't been shy about promoting his role in Collingwood's rise either. I have heard him in the media several times pumping up his tyres about his work on the press etc, whilst stating that he would do things differently (implying better).

Perhaps this is why Malthouse had the dig last night about "assistant coaches" who claim credit for great tactical innovations, but never taking any blame for blunders. MM definitely has his issues with Bucks, even if they seem to get along...

On topic. Stuff anyone else. I want Ratts to coach the club. It is extremely underrated how far we were back when he took over. The senior players (Whitnall, Stevens, Fev etc) were lazy and poor role models. We had no money and no spirit post Pagan. We had had no success for a footballing generation. Ratts and Co have had to build that up since scratch. He deserves credit he doesn't get for that. Bailey has a similar problem at Melbourne.

He once again provided uncertainty and instability with his answers. It demonstrates what I already knew. Malthouse is an egomaniac who will put his own interests before the teams.
I'd feel sick in the guts if we took the regressive path of taking him on board. Build for the future, he is the past.
