Difficult to see how we can win this...we seem to be tiring for some reason....maybe the new game plan requires higher fitness levels....we do play better at the G so we are in with some chance....its the game we simply must win to have a chance to make top four IMO....we lose this then the aim becomes a home final....

As I mentioned earlier, I'll be there as well.

Mil, if it looks like it's gonna get ugly, I'l be happy to meet up and talk solar panels if you like.

No, but it's not next saturday afternoon yet.

Our selections are getting desperate, it's not the MC's fault, we are just trying to get 22 fit, competative guys, who understand each other on the paddock every week. But we just can't manage it on the weeks where we have really important games.

Good on ya Mil. That's the spirit. True supporters go and watch when they know the odds are against the team. I'm like you. Sit up all night here listening to the stream even when we get flogged. They don't know I'm here listening any more than they know which of their members are in the crowd but WE know. My wife thinks I'm mad but my old dad is up there, pointing down at me saying to the past players, "That's my boy down there doing what I taught him to do when you lot were going around."

My stepmother has been a Dogs member for about 50 years. She still goes every week. I'll ring her later to give her a chance to gloat. Apart from a few winning seasons and false dawns it has been a lifelong nightmare for her and people like her who go for St Kilda.

You go next week, Mil. You, too Blue Dog. And the rest of you. I can't but I'll be here. We might lose, we might win but unless the true believers stick with their teams, it's just a game. Like marbles.

The sad thing is I can see the boys much more focused and determined this week BECAUSE it's Collingwood.

Still won't get within 10 goals though.

My changes for this week would be:

Out
- Any player with a niggle that would benefit significantly from a weeks rest.
- Houlihan & Joseph

Bring in the likes of Tuohy, Curnow, Watson, Lucas, Armfield & Davies. Maybe Kerr can show something at senior level.

We should do what Freo did last year for their match against the Hawks in Tassie. Lets focus on winning the winnable games and finish the year strongly.

Let's rest a few of our sore players and take our medicine. It's going to be ugly. Notice Luke Livingston is leading goalkicker in the EDFL and is team mate Aisake was bog yesterday, even Lance is running around for Craigieburn. 3 talls staright in!. Only joking, but the cupboard is looking pretty bare at the moment.

Playing Waite ag Richmond looks a mistake, we didn't need him and he pulled up very sore. For heaven's sake don't play half fit players. I think the Pies might really be out to put us in our place and we are at our most vulnerable. Big character test, but really can't see us getting close. Armfield, Tuohy in, is anyone else putting up their hand? Setanta hasn't played for weeks and while an obvious replacement for Waite or Jammo he will be underdone. We are looking like a team running out of steam and have a hard run home.

As I say, big character test just to be competitive. What did they crunch us by last time? Probably a game you don't want to get promoted for. When we go bad it makes everyone in the Ants look good.

We simply cannot get within 10 goals with our lack of quality talls. No Waite, Jammo, Setanta or the much-improving Hammer has cruelled us no end. Kreuzer is not a KP Fwd and Hendo, well who knows what his best spot will end up being  And now our mids are under manned with Scotto's injury and Curnow not right etc.

Our only hope is that the Filth will relax after their romp against the Roos, but they are a super well drilled machine and will just relish the chance to smash us IMHO.

Very tempting to rest those that need a break and just cop a flogging. But not much chance of Ratts doing that, due to the "Carl v Coll" thing. I really can't beleive they played Waite on the weekend......just dumb, and it may cost us big time if he's made his groin worse. You'd have thought they learned their lesson by playing a sick Judd against WC, and then they go and play Walks in a similar condition :screwy: :screwy: :screwy:

My mate at work asked if maybe the Blues have upped the training load recently to prepare for the finals - hence the flat effort yesterday. I somehow doubt it, but maybe ?

somehow i'd like to see duigan go forward, he takes a good mark and kicks well and he can crunch and break some bones as well. would also like to see robbo go straight to big leroy and wrestle the loser to the ground and show him we mean business. i am confident we will win by 15 points

Perhaps they picked Waite because that was a winnable game and our best chance to get a much needed four points.

They won't win this week.

Keep the knocks on Henderson coming.

Lachie's fourth year or 2010 stacks up next to the likes of Dawes and Kennedy'

Dawes v Henderson

Kennedy v Henderson

I wonder if Pies fans lost it after Chris "Superstar" Dawes was dropped last year. :donk:

In the big picture we should rest some of our key players soon as they look sore and tired.

The odds are we won't beat collingwood but w some fresh players we could easily win the rest of our games for the year.

I would:

Out: Scotland, Judd, Russell, Kruezer, Betts, Simpson, Waite, Murphy, Gibbs, Yarran, Robinson

In: Curnow, Armfield, Touhy, Setanta, Lucas, Austin, Watson, Carrazzo, Davies, O'Keefe

B: Touhy Austin Laidler
HB: Armfield Bower Duigan
C: Lucas Curnow OKeefe
HF: Carrazzo Henderson Houlihan
F: Garlett Thornton Walker
Foll: Warnock Gibbs Ellard
Int: Davies, Watson, AJ, Setanta

 ...............................................................actually that's not bad! :yikes:

What the MC will do.

Out: Houlihan AJ
In: Curnow Touhy

I still think we are a chance this week.

What our big guys need to do is stay in the contest and not get pushed off before getting in the marking contest.

West Coast and the Bulldogs have been allowed to get away with shepherding our players (especially Kruezer) well before the 5metre zone. Good defending when you can get away with it, and unfortunatley the umpires have not paid these at all. Surely a quiet visit to the Giesch is in order. The Pies are also very good at blocking/shepherding off the ball.

As for resting players, Judd, Yarran, Scotland, Ellard and or Russell should be rested for this week.

Garlett, Betts, Walker didnt get involved as much yesterday. Hopefully that will provide them with the rest they needed.

Carazzo, Curnow, Armfield and even Brock (head to head with Luke Ball) to come in for a game.

Outs: Bower (never been a fan), Waite, Joseph, Russell (rested) out..
