If we can do that and the WC have a slump for a few weeks, which is more likely than not, and we'll squeak in to 4th. One thing we don't want is to finish 5th and manage a home final against Essendon* or Sydney. If we were to win that elimination final, we'd most likely come up against the toasters in WA.

The great unknown is how many of the games against Melbourne, Kangas and Essendon* we'll lose. None of these are guaranteed based on yesterday's game. In fact, I hope we can manage 2/3.

If we finish 5th it wont be Essendon* or Sydney we play it will be Stkilda or Western bulldogs

worse thing about St.Kilda or Dogs, is that the game would be scheduled at Eithad which is no good for us...

You're assuming we beat Essendon* next week? I wouldn't expect anything at this stage. I reckon with the side that went out yesterday we may struggle to win 3 more games. All our remaining games are against teams vying for either top 4, or a spot in the 8.

That means we're playing against sides playing their own elimination final every week. It'll certainly test our metal.

By the way, I'd rather finish 6th than 5th. That would mean if we managed to win the elimination final, the second week would be against either Hawks or Cats at the G and NOT WC over there.

Exactly - let tank to finish 6th.... actually, lets play more like we did yesterday and we won't need to tank...

Yep - I've got us losing to filth, scum, dawks, shockers. Winning against dees, norf and the bye.

We finish 6th, play dogs at the G and we win.
Play Dawks at the G and win.
Play Pies at the G and win.
Play the Weagles at the G in the GF and win.

Too easy :smoking: .

A lot of comments by the non educated come back to "shoulda kept Kennedy". I don't think Kennedy would have done much. I think he is okay and having a break out season but I don't think he is anything special, nothing more than what Waite gives us.

I still think the right decision was in getting Judd.

Not sure where we'll finish up after recent stumbles and a pretty sore list at the moment. But it would be pretty diabolical if we end up having to play an interstate final for the 3rd year in succession.

Hey Duke, maybe you should watch Kennedy a bit more closely next time.
Also while your at it, watch Darling compared to Kennedy who is in his 1st year!

Kennedy, Darling, it's all irrelevant. You can't pick (or keep) all the good players.
Just have to focus on the talent we have.

We need to put our efforts behind supporting Lucas & Watson & co.

i just did a ladder predictor and tried to put the most realistic worst case scenario results for the blues in for all the matches

we only beat Melbourne

ladder came out as:

Collingwood 21 -1
Geelong 19 - 3
Hawks 17 - 5
Eagles 17 - 5
-----------------
Swans 13-1-8
Bombers 12-1-9
Blues 11-1-10
Saints 11-1-10
------------------
Dogs 11-11
Freo 11-11
North 9-13
Melb 8-1-13
Tigers 7-1-14
Crows 7-15
Lions 5-17
Port 3-19
Suns 2-20

was doing this to try and work out the chances of having an interstate final in week 1 of the finals

looks very unlikely

we should be playing in melbourne week 1 even with a disasterous end to the season

is week 1 the weekend of 9th to 11th September?

Looking at coming back again , but this time with the wife
