Not one team will be happy facing us at the MCG in the finals.

We are in this season up to our eyeballs.

Agreed. We seem to be a force at the G. But right now all I want is a win over the Doggies this week.

We've taken over the role of the Bulldogs in the top 4, never good enough to beat top teams to win the Premiership when the pressure is on in finals. Will be interesting to see what happens.

I disagree King Kenny - we've done nothing of the sort. We are now a top 4 candidate after having a few years edging back to the finals, but on an erratic basis. We've come very close to knocking off Geelong and I think we learned a fair bit from Collingwood. By season's end we'll know what the take on the WCE game was but Id choose to see it at this stage as a lesson in footy + what happens when we dont have grunt in the midfield.

The Bulldogs have been thereabouts for ever.

if we dont beat Collingwood over the next 3 years I might agree with you, but at this stage we're an emerging team still working out if / how to compete with the very good teams.

Id take this over false dawns (2010 wins over geelong and saints).

That's an apt descroiption there molsey.

We are an emerging club.
We haven't played in a preliminary final for more than a decade whereas the Doggies have featured in many.
Big difference.

I think our style is quite similar to the doggies.

mmm, there seem to be similarities, I agree. silky skills, lots of running mids. Maybe lacking a tall or two - it even feels like Jamo began playing like Lake at his best.

I hope we don't share their propensity for near misses. I do think we are becoming harder than they have been, and our emphasis on that is really strong which is so important.

The main difference is we are the Navy Blues. Finals will reveal all....

Although Hawthorn have had the wood on us all these years, i think come round 22 we will show everyone how much better than them we truly are. (providing injuries dont hurt us, and our form stays true)
My prediction is that we will cement our place in 3rd spot.

If we'd beaten Geelong it would have been written off as the Cats having an off night anyway. Can't win either way.

If Sydney had beaten us twice, they would be in the top 4. Sydney's 30 premiership points moves up to 38, they leapfrog WCE, Freo and CFC. Blues would be on 34 points, still sitting in the top 6.

Sh$ts me to tears that we can't shake this tag.

We got so wrapped up in that one win at the SCG, and we have made no real statements since.

Fair go, we were competitive as long as Razor was paying us a 50 metre everytime the ball went forward. It's just a shame someone told him at half time that's not good sport.

I guess we didn't show up against Geelong and Sydney either.

Betts only kicked the goals that got us home against the odds in Sydney. Even if we lack tall targets and a functioning forward structure, Eddie should still dominate. Just whip him again because the midfield and rucks didn't play well enough.
