I paid the 14 buck upgrade fee as well to get myself into the ground which got me a seat in Q1 (top deck Southern Stand at the Punt Road end of the ground) .

I will be standing in the AFL members reserve. (ground level M18)

Booked my reserved seats in MCC members section last night - level 1, 10 rows from the front, almost directly on the wing. I can't wait, it's gonna be great!!

Geez I hope it doesn't rain though....

Me too. I'll be going in at gates open time and heading for a walk up area.

Missed out on the AFL reserve $6.50 reserved seat at 3.10 yesterday but got the $24 AFL premium upgrade not in the reserve

Section M11 Row HH (35 rows back) I am guessing that will be one of those seats in the pocket with a level 2 overhanging view and where all the goal posts line up in a row so it looks like only 1 stick.

Has anyone ever been in HH? Premium - my left ball

M11 is seriously good!! You'll be on the flank on the wing side of 50m arc (if that makes sense).
Row AA is directly under the edge of the level 2, so you might miss a bit of sky. I always try and book AA to FF on level 1 for our away games at the "G".

There's a virtual tour of various sections on the MCG website. http://www.mcg.org.au/Tours/Virtual%20Tour.aspx
You can view M14, so that will give you some idea.

There's premium seating available on Ticketek sitting on the lower level (GSS and Olympic - avoid the Ponsford) at the moment.

(of course there wasn't any when I upgraded on Monday  )

There are plenty of seats available. This is not uncommon bays are released in stages to make it appear as though the game is a sell out and tickets are limited. As an AFL member with Carlton support I purchased 9 tickets yesterday in the Ponsford stand upper deck, 6 rows from the front without a hassle.
It is not so easy online for some reason but if you can get to a ticketek outlet or have the time to call you can get tickets no problem. In the first game this year against the filth I purchased 3 tickets at 4pm before the game, even though the game was apparently 'sold out'.
IMO it is a rouse to increase revenue with 'reserved seats' :sly:

I booked 10 tickets back in June and got M26 which isn't terrible. Row D though so hopefully the rain stays away and we can watch without too many of the toothless in front of us.

Actually I remember trying to book for this game back in the pre-sale in February and i tried to fob level Q on me. I get better seats in June than in Feb? Something screwed with that kind of system.

Ok so im not interested in getting a reserved seat (going to stand behind the carlton social club reserved section cos that's where my nan has her reserved seat). I have an 18 game social club membership, i'll still get in if i just scan my membership card. I actually really enjoy standing at the games, it feels better for some reason! I can jump around and scream and shout as much as i like!

Did you even bother to read what I posted?

Quote:
Captain Club Members
No general admission or match day walk-up area available
A Captains Club reserved seating area will be available at the MCG between Bays M7 and M9. Reserved seat tickets for this key seating will go on sale at noon on Monday July 11th and will be available until 5:00pm Tuesday July 12th, unless sold out prior.
- Adult Captains Club Member - $4.25
- Concession Captains Club Member - $3.75
- Junior Captains Club Member - $1.60

Captains Club Members have the option of purchasing one guest pass ticket. This must be purchased at the time of booking your reserved seat through Ticketek.
Guest Pass prices for Captains Club Area:
- Adult - $35.50
- Concession - $27.50
- Junior - $6.00

Captains Club Members may purchase a reserved seat in the public section on level 4 of the MCG. These tickets are available now, however if a Captains Club Member purchases a public section reserved seat they will not be able to also purchase a reserved seat in the Captains Club Area on level 1.

Carlton Members - Non-reserved seat holders
2011 Carlton Football Club Members with match day entry and no reserved seat will need to purchase a reserved seat from Ticketek to guarantee entry to the match. Members will only need to pay for the reserved seat; you will not have to pay an entry fee when booking your reserved seat.

I booked tickets yesterday, in Q3 (Southern Stand) row K. Not too bad, it is annoying that seats sold after you purchase some are in better positions. Paid $14 to upgrade. I guess the Essendon* game the following week will also be sold out, especially now that the brave Bombers are on the way back.
