Simon White is by far a much better defender than Mark Austin.

Mark Austin has played his last game for Carlton and will be the first player delisted in October.

Does anyone know what is going on with Bower??

Emergency again this week but did not play VFL last week?

Although in terms of match fitness he wouldn't be much better you'd think.

Has played half a game in a month. Let him play a full game this week and then bring him back for the Bulldogs before setting him for the big matchup with Travis Cloke a week later.

Bower at his best is better than Jamison.

Really! Jammo at his best is pretty darn good! I don't understand the massive love some ppl have for Bower, I guess all those long runs and long looping handballs to nobody have scarred my memory of him!

You would have to be one of the worst supporters I have ever encountered.

The joy you get from Austin getting dropped is extraordinary.

Bower is a 2nd round pick

Jamison is off the rookie list.

Bower has more potential to be a elite AFL backman.

Jamison has been good this year and hopefully improves further but Bower has more upside if he stays injury free.

Austin is a liability in the senior side and one of the major reasons we lost against West Coast.

Agree but id like Hendo to go back and make CHB his own, get him in the game more, has looked comfortable down back. He and Jamo to take big men with Thornton, Waite, Kreuzer & Walks all being targets up fwd.

Our backline would be weaker than our 2002 to 2007 backline. :screwy:

I actually thought Juddys performance in the guts was one of the reasons.

Bower is certaintly in our best 22 when fit, no doubt. Hotcox might even be right that he might have more upside, but he is not in the Jamison class right now. Jamo is one of our most important players currently, including one of our leaders.

Got the selections right this week. White in to play on Reiwoldt. Surprised Austin got a gig at all so no surprise to see him go. Robbo,Waite & laidler are great inclusions.

Hardwick getting excited about the Tigers height advantage? Browne, Vickery, Post & Reiwoldt don't really compare to Nicnac, Cox,Q Stick and Kennedy?

I am a fan of White but he has been rushed very quickly. Along with Laidler who has missed a month it's a big call.

Disappointed ROK didn't get a fair go as with Aussie but hard to keep Robbo and Waite out. Worse next week with Duigan and Curnow to return!

tough on austin...sure he wasnt great.
key reason we lost last week = we were smashed around the ball...tough to be a backman

Yeah, that's the way I look at it too.

But right now, he's getting his body right if I'm reading jimmae right.

I've seen enough of Bower live in full flight even from his 1st year to know he's got physical goods to be elite in the AFL.
Seriously, Jamo looked da man (possessed) in the preseason but Bower wasn't behind.

But his last outing in the seniors, :yikes: well he didn't look right to me.
Ratts said he went better, but to me he wasn't near spectacular as I would like.
He didn't even look like going near the pill. It was weird. Not a good advertisement of his prwoess.

I just hope whatever is happening to him he gets better, and I mean AFL level ready.

..nonsense call.. ..Fraser was a number 1 pick, Cox/Sandi both came off the rookie list..

..and closer to home, Livo was number4, Jamo as a rookie no contest.. ..plenty of stars off the rookie list that have outshone the early picks..

Bit harsh on Austin there. He was unlucky that his first game for the season coincided with one of the few times this year when he was comprehensively beaten in the midfield battle. When the ball was coming in like last Sunday, it's hard enough for the best in the game, let alone a bloke who was playing his first game in how long? A year, year and a half? I agree that he is not in our best 22 at the moment, but if he was retained in the side like some others seem to be, I think he would pick up the pace of the game and be quite serviceable.

As for the ins, it's great to have Robbo back, but I hope the others are not underdone. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see Austin as a late in.

Will we overun those kids from Tigerland?

Waite, Laidler haven't played for a whle, but they have a big preseason under their belts.

We should be too tough for them over an extended period.

They're on a mission, so it'll be close.

We should win by 7 goals or more.

That's pretty disappointing for O'Keeffe and Austin; I really felt Ellard deserved a spell, and White back after one VFL game is ludicrous (not to mention demoralising for Aussie).

But I got 2.5/4 on the incoming, and 2/4 on the outgoing after being told my changes were stupid.

I'll bite.
How can you get two and a half selections right?
Did you nominate a sub or something?

I picked one of Bower & Laidler to replace Jamison. ;)
