Are they ever ready at that age... probably not... its a risk that sometimes you have to take...

It's a risk you shouldn't take because he isn't ready.

Watson's lack of recovery made Dixon look like Buddy.

Even a VFL player called Galea turned him inside out.

Unfortunately now quite used to seeing important players go down just as they're about to reach their peak.

Henderson will move to defense surely. He showed promise against JK on the weekend. I would bring in Bower as well.

Relax, we can still win games of football.

Does this mean he'll get another game?

Why does that have to do with Watson who didn't star against one of North's seconds :?:

Watson's development (his body and game) is probably going to be more in line with Nathan Brown and Ben Reid than Harry Taylor, Hurley and Dustin Fletcher.

Watto is just a teenager.

We can't replace Jamison but we can cover him. Henderson, Thornton, Bower, and Austin (if Hot Cox can handle 2 games in a row).

Waite will return. That's 5 talls. Plus 2 ruckmen.

Geez, Hawthorn have virtually their whole tall spine out apart from Franklin.

Geelong had 7 or 8 players with under 20 games on the weekend.

If we are a contender must not, can not rely on one player.

Carlton say 4 weeks means he's probably now retired. Sounds like crap anyway 4 weeks for knee surgery.

I’m a self confessed nervous nellie.

This is the last thing we need, especially after the weekend and now really needing to consolidate our position.

I have that awful feeling that things are starting to unravel….

Hopefully the boys can prove me wrong. Simply cannot afford a repeat of the second half of 2010.

You can't use the excuse of being turned inside out for not being ready. It happens to good players every week.

He can vote and drive, he is not a teenager.

His development will be fast-tracked playing in the AFL, not the VFL. He'll learn more with better players around him. Need to get more games into him. 70% of the Suns players are not ready either, but gee, the more AFL games they are getting into them, they are learning fast.

In his 2 games he played, he wasn't a disgrace at all. Stood up quite well against Collingwood.

Gee, there are some nervous nellies around here. :donk:

For the record, our two tall backs Rd 1 were T-Bird and White - that's it! No Jamo, Bower, Hendo and Watson emergencies.

We won by 20 pts, 34 scoring shots to 19. The backline had players like Yarran, Duigan, Laidler etc who had hardly played together. Jack dominated with 6 and they were still well beaten.

How does that make sense? have u seen our draw for next 4 games?

I think this is the sort of depth test that is more realistic

If we can't beat Tigers, Dogs and Scum without Jamo, then we Carlton and Top 4 shouldn't be in same ballpark, seriously

I've had a chance to calm down and while i still think he is going to be nigh on impossible to cover, with Henderson showing a bit on JK and Bower waiting in the wings we nay be able to limit the damage against the lesser sides...pies will belt us by 6 plus goals..

It is now time for Bower to step up into the seniors and cover a tall while providing some run, this is his chance..Waite and Setanta up front now become critical...Warnock should be dropped for Setanta as soon as he's ready..

When you 'tear' a miniscus, even ever so slightly - you don't know you've down anything serious except perhaps feel like you've twinged something. After a few minutes, that pain goes away. I'd suggest there are hundreds of amateur athletes who have torn a miniscus and never had the scans to prove it...just some swelling. It does heal itself.

Is anyone else worried that the article posted on the carlton website says:

"Expected to miss AROUND four weeks"

If this is a Bower four weeks then he could be out till finals.

I can't remember the last time I've 100% believed what the club has said about an injured player

Time for Bower to come into the side and become our no 1 defender which he has all the potential to become. Needs to stand up.

He is how the backline will look:

Laidler Henderson Bower
Yarran Thornton Russell Gibbs

Don't spoil it for the 'tissue shredders' 101

Heaven forbid Juddy or Murph fall over. There would be synchronized swan diving from the Westgate Bridge if that were to happen.

Tough luck for Jamo and the team but everyone will suck it up and get on with it. One door closes and another one opens for someone else to step up.

Bower, Austin, T-Bird, Hendo and Waity will sort it out. I have total faith

Regards Cazzesman
