Pros:

Tough, but I'll give it a go

Russell's defensive work
A game for O'Keefe & Austin (Hotcox  )
Touhy
Nic Nat hopefully stole the car from Krakouer (ironically enough)
Yarran was good
Thornton good
Scotland good

Cons:

Warnock - just insipid, his lack of strength one on one stands out like dogs balls
Carazzo's disposal
General attack on the footy
Jamo - another injury
Generally beaten at our own game - clearances, contested footy, tackling & the press

Pros:
*We have found out what certain players are capable or not capable of, we have a clearer picture of our best 22.
*We had our weakest line up in all season, couldn't expect to win

Cons:
*We have found out what certain players are capable or not capable of, we have a clearer picture of our best 22.

Pros

Thornton tried hard against the tide.
Betts and Garlett did there job in the forward line.

Cons:

Ratten's descion to play Gibbs on Lynch, disgraceful.
Jamison's injury.
Mark Austin was clearly out of his depth at senior level. Soundly beaten at both ends of the ground.
Walker had a shocker.
Judd played his worst game in a Carlton jumper.
Smashed at the clearances.
Warnock is going backwards
Henderson needs to hit the gym and put on a few kgs so he can compete in marking contests.

Cons:
Thornton is a third tall at best
Austin has never looked like making it at senior level
Hoops contributed nothing today, may be time to opt the younger kids over him
Warnock needs a solid 6 months of weights and junk food to learn to stand his ground.
No one was giving options up the ground
Players handballing it to unexpecting team mates.
F50 entries
Austin, Warnock and Hendo as Key fwds were consistently easily pushed out of contests
Disposal
Jamo- another injury
Ratts took a half of footy to take off Jamo when clearly he wasnt right

Pros:
Hendo as a defender, should pursue with.
Yaz tried to get us going
Alot of ins to return
Garlett and Betts made the most of their opportunities
O'keefe debuting, unfortunately we couldn see his capabilities due to the manner the team played, hopefully gets another chance

Austin has never looked like making it at senior level appears to be the case, took one good mark, setanta is a better option

Warnock needs a solid 6 months of weights and junk food to learn to stand his ground.spot on, although he was good at leading and marking in the final last year

Just on Austin!
I'd like to see some of you take on Lynch, Kennedy, NicNat & Darling with just Thornton & Gibbs as KP support!!!!! Fair dinkum the kid tried but was fighting with one hand behind his back today. If the MC are like you and drop Austin next week then they have lost me for 2011. The kid tried to attack and defended where possible, he deserves a few games with some help and support. If not for CFC's future, for the kids future!

Agree. I didn't think he looked completely out of his depth.

No more out of the question than putting Gibbs on GOodes. That works out.
I had Gibbs on Lynch in my matchups. I expected better protection from the mids though and a more compact team. Perhaps i underestimated their mids or how our outs were going to effect our midfield unit.

Its a move that didnt come off but far from disgraceful.

Pro :- the team saw first hand how if they are off their game with effort and structures just little they will be made to pay.
We get to see how we bounce back next week.

Con :- we were off our game effort and structure wise.
Jamisons injury

Agree. I didn't think he looked completely out of his depth.

Agree also; if he was off the pace at times, well it was his first game of the year. What excuse did his team mates have?

Pros

Scotland was outstanding. Continued his great season
Yarran is consistently trying to take the game on and make things happen and doing it well. As much as we needed to try something in the last quarter I don't think moving Yarran into the forward line is the answer. It basically took him away from where the ball was.
Thornton was in everything and made good decisions, marked cleanly and moved the ball quickly
Betts is looking more confident again
Plenty of good players to come back into the side

Cons

Warnock and Hendo need to actually figure out how to take a contested mark. No idea at the moment.
The one bloke we can't afford to lose got injured in the first quarter
Judd getting manhandled all game and seemingly unable to do anything about it
Losing an "8 point" game

As an aside, I thought Austin battled away manfully. You'd always like to see a young bloke come into a strong, settled side, with a clear role that he is capable of performing well. Tough to be thrown into a makeshift defence under siege taking on blokes 5-10kgs bigger than you.

Pros

First half of third quarter
Jeffrey and Eddie
Murphy

Cons

Carlton supporters. Resorting to brutally bagging players like the dark years.
Jamo's injury.
Being at work tomorrow. The texts have been flying in from everywhere.
Missed Robbo
What has happened to Warnock
Judd didnt look right
Lynch is a scumbag of the highest order

For those of you unaware, Judd has had the flu' all week -- that's probably why he
was only a shadow of his usual self.

Pro - Thorton's delivery was top shelf today, (and I'm not really a fan of his).

Cons - Ellard's inablity to break / evade opposition tackles is starting to worry at bit.

PROS
-Good to see Rhys O'Keeffe finally debut, wish it was from the start of the game though.

-Third quarter fightback, albeit short lived. The WCE throw that resulted in a goal snuffed out that though.

-All those bandwagoners in the media can now bugger off.

-Reality check, hopefully the boys can bounce back next week.

CONS
-Not strictly match related but WHY THE FLOWER WAS THE ROOF LEFT OPEN???? I spent the first half being blinded by the sun and only able to see half of the ground (how must it be having to actually play in those conditions?). Then i spent most of the second half being rained on. Flower the dips*** morons who made that decision. Three weeks of being able to only see half the game- thanks for nothing Collo. The only redeeming feature of your rubbish stadium is your roof- how about you use it???? Thank goodness we are not playing in that dump next week, and the sooner we are permanently out of that hole the better.

-Our inability to take a mark in our forward 50 regularly, we really missed Waite this week, hope he is back soon.

-Leaving an obviously injured Jamison on the ground for 20 minutes before taking him off. Playing injured players never works, yet we wasted nearly a whole quarter with Jamison on the ground who was unfortunately a liability. And why play an obviously not right Ellard? He may be preferred over Brock McLean but he really was not able to contribute at all.

-Warnock's timid game. It seems that it has taken until the last month that Hampson has been regularly playing with the enough aggression at the contest, would be great if Warnock could learn from Hampson's last month.

-I hate hearing the umpires names before the game and thinking we are in for a rough game.....and being right.

-Carlton supporters giving hell to their own- save it for the opposition and the umpires who really deserve it.

-Having to listen to that rubbish Big Bird song TWICE. All I could think of was Sesame Street. IMO definitely the worst club song. There are a few turgid tuneless numbers in the AFL but I don't think their lyrics come close to the crapness of that number.

This was disgraceful and it simply lost us the game!
Collingwood would be all over something like this, yet I have not heard beep out of us yet!
Simply unacceptable and it cost us! We need to make a stand and speak out.
While where at it, we should be highlighting some of the behind the play incidents as well and make sure we are allowed to do the same next time we meet them!

No Robbo - No Carlton :fight:

Never thought that I'd say this - but I think that we actually missed Hampson!!!! especially in the forward line, at least he provides a contest.

In saying that - this could be the loss (eye opener) that our boys needed!

:thanks:
