Yes, Bruce said at one point to Tim Watson, "You want to barrack for Carlton when they play like this. Do you feel like that Tim?"

there was a pause and time replied, "No."

It was GOLD!

Don't mind Tim, even on SEN, quite a good sense of humour

Gibbs was good, eh?

Gibbs was good but he doesnt play in the midfield. He is good at what he does but he isnt an impact player and he got a lot of cheap and easy stats yesterday. Thats what I have been saying for a long time.just looking at the bigger picture.

knew we had smashed them

but in hindsight

the score was 19-1 to sydney early in the 1st qtr

when yarran goaled with 15 minutes left in the last qtr

the score was 92 - 28

we outscored them over roughly 3 qtrs of football 91 - 9

that is pretty damn impressive

The jobs he has done for us across HB, onball and HF have had a massive impact on our season.

Not sure what you are getting at Keogh. You want him to be a midfielder but he isnt so you are judging him harder?

That's what it looks like.

Gibbs has been massive for us.

We are lucky we can afford the luxury of putting his class where we desperately need him: Mr Fix It.

Healy, Sheehan, Roos were raving how Gibbs has arrived, In fact Roos went further and said Gibbs has always been good.

Gibbs does his roles better than probably Murphy and Judd do.
Judd already has stated that Gibbs is da freak footballer, and Murphy is too short to tag Goodes out of the game.

Gibbs does travel through the midfield and forwardline and backline. Don't pigeon hole him.

Gibbs...remember that name.

Yeah, he finally gave some unqualified recognition to Carlton. Might have been just me, but didn't look he especially enjoyed doing so.

Didn´t see it.
Didn´t even hear it,
Was at Orly airport in Paris when I rang Blue Beatle for the result.
Next week I think I will be back in Mexico just in time to stay up and watch it. Don´t know how the missus will take it after 12 days away if you all get the gist.

There´s always one more problem to solve......

Now that Roos has finally dropped the anti Carlton vitriol, I think you too can drop the guesswork on Gibbs too.

Gibbs is a player who CAN be used in different positions, and if needed is a very good midfielder which Carlton has a plethora of.

It is a luxury to play Gibbs anywhere but the midfield, and Roos said, he can comfortably go in there.

Keogh I think you have set the bar unreasonably high for Gibbs. I think your asking for a Judd like performance. IMO Hodge and Ball are no where near Judd and they too were taken earlier than the pick 3 Judd was picked in the same draft.

Give me Gibbs before Hodge and Ball anyday. Both those guys have past their peak. The Gibbs show is just starting despite having played 100 games already.

He's a footballer with a football brain. And we are so lucky. He along with the other first rounders Russell and Yarran perform roles outside the midfield because they are very good footballers and we need their class elsewhere.

Get on board...this versatlity thing is something you better get use to everyone. No more pigeon holing.

On one week at a time they put up a list of Gibbs scalps for the season. When you look at the players who he has knocked over it is a pretty impressive list. Wallsy posed the question why he has not been mentioned in any All Australian discussions? Not too many players in the AFL can take the oppositions best player out of the game and get 20-30 possessions while doing it.
I was one that was worried about his intensity several weeks ago but he has taken his game like most of the team to another level.

They did the same thing on OTC with Sheehan, Roos and Healy.

They also said it was amazing we had such a reliable player who can play against talls and smalls and do a job as well as hurt the other way.
