thought it was game two whe he busted his leg?

funny that you mention charles, cause mark porter was the bloke who fell across his leg i'm pretty sure. He himself had a sensational debut agaisnt the bombers in 97 - highlighted by his perfect palm down, down braddles thoat, who didn't break stride out of the middle and slotted it post high from 60m.

It was the opening game of the season against the Crows.

cool, it's funny how certain things in your memory change over time.

I can still remember watching that game too.

I remember murray vance's first game against freo at PP, he had 5 touches for 5 inside 50's and i thought he would be a star.

Think Ronnie Deluilo missed two dead set sitters in row right in front that game too.

"Turkey" Tom Carroll kicked 5 goals on debut in 1961 against one of the great full-backs in Verdun Howell

Vance had a really fantastic preseason one year, was coming along very well, was dominating preseason games, and about halfway through the Ansett Cup got his jaw broken by Clive Waterhouse out at Waverley.

Back to square one, possibly even before it.

6th Blue to debut already this year with Boekhorst to start this week....

Just did a quick checxk and we haven't had 6 debutants by Round 4 for at least 10 years, although we've had 5 a number of times....

I'll look up Trent Sporn's debut and get back to you. He did okay in a side well beaten.

Interesting memory:

Folklore says Ricky Mott was so good over Matty Allan that day that we drafted him a year or so later....

Yeah no mention of his game but he looked alright.
We drafted Warnock for the same reason as Mott. One good game against us and what do you know?

Great player from my old club City South in Launceston.

I'm pretty sure Simon Wiggins debuted in a game against the Saints at Princes Park, which also happened to be Aaron Hammill's first game against us. From memory, we defeated them comfortably and Wiggins slotted a cheap last quarter goal. What a mess our club has been since then ...

Would have thought Wright is a probable.

Wright is highly likely I'd say; as it Weitering and Kerridge. Plus one of Phillips and Gorringe; probably the former.

4 debuts.

I don't think CCurnow is a shot given they didn't pick him v. the Swans.

99 not out. It's taken this long to mention Kade Simpson? And his first three games. We all know how that ended up didn't we? Who would have thought he would be by far our best pick in that infamous draft and our only surivivor to this day? Lows there in an otherwise outstanding career.
