The NT News has published this weeks side as......

Backs: J. Garlett S. Hampson A. Walker

HBacks: E. Betts L. Henderson K. Simpson

Centres: M. Murphy B. Gibbs H. Scotland

HForwards: N. Duigan B. Thornton C. Yarran

Forwards: Z. Tuohy M. Jamison J. Russell

R: M. Kreuzer M. Robinson C. Judd

Interchange from: A. Carrazzo D. Ellard E. Curnow R. Houlihan P. Bower M. Austin D. Armfield

In: R. Houlihan M. Austin D. Armfield

I hope the sports editor is a South Australian or that he has some inside info that we will be so far in front at half time that Ratts will swap the forwards for the backs like we used to do in little league.

Carlton by 23 points. I don't think Sydney are much chop over 4 quarters. Richmond reeled them in and they are shite.

Traditionally slow starters we'll be within 2 goals for the first half, and Blues to open the gates after half time to seal the win.

That's my take. :)

Sydney on the line +24.5 to Carlton is an interesting tipple.

Yep that's a SANFL thing. List the side from defence down to attack.

Not that I give a flying flower but Paul Roos is about the only tipster in today's Herald-Sun (apart from Kiss of Death and Jon Anderson) who is tipping Sydney.

That does it, strike Roos off the list as a potential replacements for Ratten in the event they decide he is to be replaced.

Never wanted him at the club anyway.

Sydney tipping wanker.

I think you'll find it's Roos believing that Sydney has taken the high moral ground by remaining competative whilst not having a Top 10 draft pick in a decade.

Yeah, I remember reading the Swans saying they were confident cos of all the scoring opps they created against Richmond. Are they completely unaware they are playing a different side at a different ground in different conditions this week?

Who needs a top ten pick if you can use living allowances to recruit senior players?

Geography allows you to get away with paying your players more than the other clubs.

McVeigh, Bolton and Fosdike are former top ten picks.

*Edited to get in before Jimmae*

That's true, but you can't deny the success of their trading philosophy over the last 15 years. They can do it more often because of the allowance, but they do it well.

Excellent coaching as well as nailing the right role for the player.

As i have stated it was going to take a injury crisis with our KPP for Austin to come to be considered. Laidler, White & Ohalpin are injured. Watson and McCarthy are not ready.

People out there will not be getting a beer from me because Mark Austin will not play. :smoking:

Just read Hotcox's post.

Please let Austin play.

Thornton tries his best, doesnt seem it somtimes but he does try . i just hope he playes super well and can stay in the side for his sake and the teams sake cos i cant forget seeing a 12 yr old kid for hours on end runnen up and down the street bouncing the footy and kicking into poles and fences and chasing the rebound, night after night after night.

Great post. A lot of us (me included) like to take pot shots at players. Puts a bit of perspective on things.

i have mentioned this before but i find it funny that we would always wave and say g'day when he was a kid but i had no idea he was obviously a good junior footy player every now and then i would have a bit of a kick with him. then when i saw him on tv against freo in 2002 i spat out my coffee and called the mrs and said is that the kid from the street? she said i think so. monday comes i see him playen kick to kick with the fence again so i kicked him by blues footy and he kicked back and i said no dude i want you too sign it for my daughter. he said wow my 1st autograph lol

If they are on the I/C bench, then they are named in the Ants until the final team is released tonight.

I can tell you that Austin is very highly regarded by the MC. When he was drafted he was considered a late developer and as such a long term project. The issue that has made that worse is his injury run a lot which, such as broken arms, are just unlucky.

He his big tall and mobile and can play forward or back and is a popular bloke. Commodoties you simply dont throw away.

He wont play this week but given an injury free run I expect him to play during the season and prove his worth on our list.
